'77年発表。
ティン・パン・アレーfeaturing松任谷正隆。
もっとも当時発表された日本のかなりの数のアルバムが、ティン・パン・アレーfeaturing○○○といった趣きだが。

それにしても、このアルバムにおけるバックメンバーを中心とした当時のスタジオ・ミュージシャンの大半が未だに日本のシーンを支える存在であり続けている現実には驚嘆とともに、それにとって替わる、もっと言えば超えるだけの若手ミュージシャンが台頭してこないことへの淋しさも感じる。

作詞、ジャケットはともに全て夫人である松任谷由実の手によるもの。
「Hong Kong Night Sight」は後年、自作「水の中のアジアへ」でもカバーしている。
（「ユーミンの曲をダンナさんがカバー」と言われることが多いが発表はこちらの方が何年も前。）

個人的には、ただひたすら声量や音域だけが取柄だったり力量不足をお粗末なフェイクやファルセットでごまかすような「J-POP」ボーカリストに比べれば、よっぽど「はっぴいえんど→ティンパン系」の面々（ex.細野晴臣、鈴木茂、大滝詠一）のヘタウマ（失礼）ボーカルの方が「唄心」も感じるし深い味わいも感じる。

中でもこのアルバムでのマンタの肩の力の抜け具合は、もはや達人の境地。
唄の「技術」だけが音楽のクォリティを決めるものではないという好例だ。
いまやカラオケでも唄うことのできる名曲「Hong Kong Night Sight」ではマンタならではの「力の抜けた熱唱」が聴ける。
「気づいたときは遅いもの」や大貫妙子をボーカルゲストに迎えた「荒涼」も名曲。

まさに唄ものサポート名人達の真骨頂である。

日本のAORのひとつの到達点。
一演奏者、表現者ではなくアレンジャー／プロデューサーたらんと宣言するかのようにたった一枚だけ発表されたソロ。
ここで創り出されたサウンド・プロダクションのフォーマットは以降の松任谷由美のアルバム（'78紅雀~'80時のないホテル）において芳醇な成熟を迎える。

現在のPOPシーンにつながるルーツを感じさせるアルバム特に「ホンコンサイト」はボーカルを表に出さず楽器の一部のように利用したある意味ですべてのサウンドが説けたような？？？感じが素晴らしい！！

当時の業界の背景がにじみ出るようなこの作品、この時代に興味のある人は一聴の価値あり。ユーミンが後にカバーしたＨＯＮＧ　ＫＯＮＧ　ＮＩＧＨＴ　ＳＩＧＨＴや、ＨＩ-ＦＩ　ＳＥＴがカバーした荒涼など、聞きもの。荒涼は、この大貫妙子のバージョンのほうが、より寒さが伝わってくる。
