構成から音色までXTC、ことに「Black Sea」に影響を
受けているのが明らかだがダダイスト的な鋭角な歌詞
と捨て鉢にさえ聞こえる勢いが本家よりよほどパンク。
タイトルはかつてフランスであったカメラを万年筆の
ように使おう〜という運動から採られたもの。
勝手にムーンライダーズの歴史を分類するならば
「ヌーヴェルヴァーグ」「モダーンミュージック」
に続くNEW WAVE期の集大成。
ラストの「大都会交響楽」のループは是非オリジナルの
LPを探して聴いて欲しい。

当時は、アイドル全盛期、こんなカッコイイバンドは世界を探しても他にいないと信じてた。（絶対売れると信じてた）

ひとつのアルバムとして秘密結社的に密度濃く完成された作品で、どの曲が欠けてもこの完成度の高さは実現しなかったのではないかと今でも感心させられる。実験的と周りから言われようが、名画のタイトルに併せ、息もつかせず繰り広げられる４０分足らずのマシンガン連射音楽？には思わずため息。
やっぱり、２０代パワーが確かにあります。

同じ頃の「鬼火」が名曲と評価されるなら、このアルバムは日本歌謡界における突出した名作であると断言します。

Don't　Trust〜　に続き手にした、僕にとってのMOONRIDERS二枚目。
上記の完成度をMOONRIDERSと思っていたため、初めて聴いた時は、あまりしっくりきませんでした。

それでも、気がついたらこのCDをかけている状態が続き、全曲聴きこんでしまっていました。他のアルバムよりも音がずっとストレートで、分かり易いフレーズが多いです。
歌詞は、「理解できない」けれども奇妙に心に染み込む。矛盾した、独特の魅力があります。

アルバムのコンセプト自体が面白く、今の若者が聴くとモノクロ映画を観たようなノスタルジーを感じるんじゃないでしょうか。
レトロさと実験性とが奇妙に絡み合い、モダンでありながら懐かしい。

どこへも行けない閉塞感を背負いながら疾走しているような雰囲気があります。
行き止まりと知りながらも走ることを止めない彼らが行き着いた世界は、どんな世界だったのでしょうか。
