「そのうち結婚する君へ」の主題歌で、女優：藤谷美和子と、実力派男性シンガー：大内義昭が共演したデュエット曲。作詞：秋元康／作曲：羽場仁志（はば・ひとし）。秋元康は有名だが、羽場仁志を個人名で知っている人は、そう多くないだろう。テレビ朝日系「ゴリラ・警視庁捜査第8班 サウンドトラック」の収録曲で、「Behind Loneliness」という名曲がある。これを作曲し、歌った人である。高音で、歌も上手い。

ミリオンセラー（100万枚）を達成した曲でもあり、流石に曲は良い。藤谷美和子の歌はお世辞にも上手いとは言えないが、大内義昭の歌は上手い。控え目な歌唱ながら、主演女優をしっかりとバックアップしている。

実は、男性と女性の声の高さは、1オクターブまでは違わない。従って、女性がオクターブ上を歌うと、かなり高い音になってしまう。男性は逆に低音すぎて映えない。このため、デュエット曲というのは、意外に作るのが難しいのだそうだ。

この「愛が生まれた日」は、基本的に女性と男性が同じ高さを歌う構造になっている。負担は男性の方がずっと大きい。女性パートはたった1オクターブで歌えるのに対し、男性は2オクターブないと歌えないのだ。ちょっと天然でレンジの狭い藤谷美和子に、抜群に上手い大内義昭だから、映えるとも言える。

平均的な日本人の声域は2オクターブに満たない。この曲を歌う男性は、相当歌に自信がないといけないわけだ。それをクリアすれば、この名曲を彼女と歌える。♪夜空の星より、側にいる貴方の方が美しい、と歌う詞も良いし、適度に哀愁を帯びたメロディーも見事。

カラオケに行って、誰かとディュエットする時に・・・・。
「銀座の恋の物語」では、ちょっと古すぎ。
そんな時に歌いたい１曲。
男性パートを歌える人が多いのも助かります・・・。

デュエット曲の中でも最高傑作です。
当時私が小学校の頃よく聴いてた作品です。

また、男女カップルがカラオケで歌う分にも申し分ない曲です。
