この人の歌唱を初めて聴いたとき、どことなくあの演歌界きっての技巧派
細川たかしを彷彿とさせるものを感じました。細川たかしがデビューした
時、子供心に「スゴイ人が出てきたな」と衝撃を受けましたが、はっきり
言いましょう・・・氷川きよしは少なくともデビュー当時の細川たかしより

巧いです。ですから、この人が今の細川たかしくらいの年齢に達した時、
どれ程の超絶技巧派歌手になっているのか考えただけで末恐ろしい
です。この年齢で「潮来笠」「名月赤城山」を歌いこなせるなんて本当に
信じられません。ルックス先行で語られがちな彼ですが、ルックスは
オマケのようなものです、あくまでもこの若さで股旅演歌のわび・さびを

完璧に表現できる才能に驚いてください。

彼が股旅ものでデビューしたときは、「若いのにうまいねぇ・・」と感心したものです。
「潮来笠」は、三味線の音色を聞いただけで、懐かしい新鮮さを感じます。
しかも、元祖の歌手まで浮かんでしまうのです。・・
でも、彼の歌声も大変この曲に合っているし、大変ＧＯＯＤに聞かせています。
全曲を聞くと、遠い昔、いろんな人々が道を往来していた姿さえ浮かんで来ますね。
そんな想像をしているうち、やっぱり股旅姿がイチバンだと感じさせるナイスな曲の集合です。・・
