ラファエル･クーベリック／チェコ･フィル。この組み合わせはもう見ることのできないものなのだろうかと思っていたとき、東ヨーロッパに劇的な変化の波が訪れた。若かりし日にこのチェコ・フィルの音楽監督を務め、政治的理由で亡命しアメリカやいわゆる西側諸国で活躍したクーベリックにとって、42年ぶりのチェコ･フィルとの「わが祖国」。1990年の「プラハの春音楽祭」での演奏は世界中のクラシックファンに大きな喜ばしい衝撃を与えた。翌年には、この組み合わせで日本公演を行ない、東京のサントリーホールで「プラハの春」の再現(?)をしたことは日本のクラシック音楽史上に大きく名を残すものとなった。クーベリックにとってもチェコ･フィルにとっても「わが祖国」はまさに十八番。42年という歳月は両者にとってすぐに取り返すことのできるものであったことを示す演奏だ。あたかも2人の親友がやむを得ず42年もの間生き別れになり、再会した喜びを味わい、昔話に花を咲かせているような感動的な一枚だ。

最高の作品だ。

単に演奏が素晴らしいのではない。指揮者､オーケストラ､そして聴衆が一つとなり、この演奏を盛り立てている。まさに各自が持つ『我が祖国』への熱い想い、切実な気持ちがひしひしと伝わってくる。

何百年もの間､他国の圧力からの解放を願っていたチェコの人たち。それが今まさに実現した。『ブラニーク』のエンディングは圧政と戦ってきた彼らの先祖フス教徒たちの高らかな勝利を告げるもので､彼らが手にした自由への勝利と相まって､熱狂をいやがうえにも高める。

世にライブ録音のＣＤは数多くあるけれども、この作品のように真に歴史のページに金字塔を建てた演奏はほとんどないだろうし､今後ともなかなかありえないだろう。

素晴らしいとしかいいようがない。

これより良い「我が祖国」があったら紹介してください、というくらい良い。緊張感がすばらしい。とてもライブとは思えないです。買い。
