5.0 out of 5 stars ウルトラシリーズの音楽で、最高の完成度を誇る作品, 2003/4/27
本作の音楽で一番ウリなのは、常に、ウルトラシリーズのみならず、円谷プロ作品を音楽面で支えてきた宮内國郎・冬木 透両先生の、結果的に共同担当となった点でしょう。

ディスク1は、宮内先生による音楽を収録しています。オケは、ストリングスを加えたビッグバンドのスタイル。主題歌のカラオケも含め、全曲、円谷プロ初の海外(ロス)録音。アニメーションの音楽の枠を超えた、<宮内國郎ジャズ作品集>とも言える作りです。

主題歌も宮内先生の作曲で、ささきいさおさんが歌っていますが、同じく宮内先生の『ウルトラマン』の主題歌と同様、覚えやすい歌詞でかつ、シンプルで歌いやすいメロディに仕上がっている名曲です。

ディスク2は、冬木先生による音楽を、収録しています。冬木先生の音楽と言えば、やはりシンフォニックなオーケストラ・サウンド。『交響詩ザ・ウルトラマン』収録曲もTV用にトラックダウンされた音源!で収録されています。また、宮内先生による主題歌のメロディを、冬木先生がアレンジし、戦闘テーマとなっている点も見逃せないでしょう(M-20,M-22')。もちろん、冬木先生作曲の戦闘テーマ(M-17・18/「ウルトラマン讃歌」のアレンジ)も入ってます。

たとえ本作がアニメではなく、実写であったとしても、ここに収録された宮内・冬木両先生の音楽は通用したでしょう。それくらい、単にアニメの音楽という概念に当てはまらないくらいの、高い完成度です。
