カヴァー・ポップスで一時代を築き、その後オリジナル作品に活路を見い出そうとしていた弘田三枝子＝ミコちゃんは、まだまだかけ出しの新進作曲家だった京平さんといち早くコンビを組み、５枚のシングルを発表していった。その第１作でまずまずのヒットになった67年夏の「渚のうわさ」の直後、京平さん初の大きなヒット「バラ色の雲」（ヴィレッジ・シンガーズ）が発売になり、その後も京平さんはヒット作を重ねていったのだが、ミコちゃんとのコンビ作の方では一向にこれといった結果が出せないまま、68年秋の第５作「可愛い嘘」をもって一旦、終了とあいなった（なかにし礼＝川口真コンビで大ヒットした「人形の家」は翌69年夏の発売。「燃える手」は、この延長線上で制作された70年の作品で、なかにし礼お得意の耽美な世界だ）。それにしても、確かに個々の楽曲を聴いてみると出来にばらつきがあるのは確かだが、どうしてこれらの「枯葉のうわさ」「涙のドライヴ」「渚の天使」…といったシングルが売れなかったのか、はなはだ不思議だというほかない。ボーナス・トラック的な、69年７月発売のオムニバスLPに収録のレア音源「ダンシング・セブンティーン」もキュートでいい。なお、６枚組のBOX『これくしょん』には、「涙のドライヴ」とのシングル曲検討の結果、採用されず未発表に終わった「春風のうわさ」（もちろん橋本淳＝筒美京平作品）が収録されている。

筒美京平氏が弘田三枝子にかいた曲を集めた一枚。

「渚のうわさ」のようなメローな涙が出そうな曲から、
カバー曲「ダンシング・セブンティーン」のような軽快な曲まで。

バラエティ豊かな名盤です。

ミコちゃんはコロムビアに移籍してから約２年ぐらいは何とかヒットがありましたが、肝心の大ヒット曲は東芝時代が最も多く他のコロムビアベスト盤も買いましたが、確かに歌は上手です、でもやはりヒット曲が

少なくて彩がありません彼女の歌唱力だけを堪能したい私の様なファンであれば曲が悪くても彼女の歌唱力でカバーできるのでいつまでも買い続けられるのです、このアルバムもその一枚ではあります、他の歌手であればつまらない曲ばかりです、リリースできるのはミコちゃんの力
のみと言う事だけなので点数は辛く付けました。
