ジャケットではブルコメの皆さんがキメにキメまくっている、この“GS & GUYS”編ではあるが、どちらかというとGS組に関しては、GSっぽさよりもまず《歌謡ポップス》としての洗練ぶりの方が目につく。そしてそれは、このアルバム全体を通しても言えることで、なごみ系の人気曲「フランス人のように」、「また逢う日まで」の原形である-歌詞が異なる-「ひとりの悲しみ」など、１曲目「涙の糸」の歌詞に出てくる“白い車とマンション”ではないが、聴いているとなんとなく、スポーティーで都会的……、そんなイメージの浮かぶ楽曲が、圧倒的に多い（これにはもちろん、大部分の作詞を手がけた名コンビ・橋本淳のセンスに負うところも大だろう）。若き日の京平さんによる美しいメロディーライン、そして繊細なサウンド作りにとことん酔いしれることのできる、これはそんな１枚だ（極私的!イチ押しは「フランス人」、そして「渚に夢ひとつ」「恋はうそつき」。マチャアキは５曲収録されているが、もっと聴きたい気もする）。正直、こういう良質なコンピレーションこそ、もっと入手しやすい状態であって欲しいものなのだが。
