古賀政男氏は、昭和の歌謡界を引っ張った音楽の重鎮である。古賀政男氏は、心で作曲をされていたそうだ。島倉千代子氏に、「お千代ちゃん。その調子だよ。歌は心で歌うんだ。」と言われていたそうである。古賀メロディーは、日本はもとより世界中で歌い継がれている。つまり、日本人はもとより、世界各国の人々の心に歌が生き続けていることが理解出来る。また、日本の場合、第二次世界大戦前・戦中・戦後の混乱した貧乏な暗い時代の人々に勇気を与え、心をなぐさめるための栄養剤となったことは間違い無い。このCDは、古賀メロディーを現代人の視点から今一度見つめ直し、その心の真髄に迫ることが出来る。

私には、今年88才になる叔母がおり、現在、老人向けの施設に入っています。
久しぶりに、お元気な姿を見るために訪問したとき、このCDを持って行きました。
叔母は、もちろん喜んでくれましたが、それ以上に、そこの施設の方々が喜んでくれました。
特に1曲目の"影を慕いて"は、CDをかけるまでソファで放心していたように座っていたご婦人が、この曲を聴いたとたん、自然に口ずさんでくれ、私は感動のあまり、となりに座って、一緒に歌ってしまいました。
歌は、当時のことを思い出させるといいますが、このCDは、年輩の方々を元気にさせる最高の"若返り薬"だと思います。
