　私は今29歳です。でも淡谷さんは高校生の頃から大好きな歌手の一人でした。若い世代の人間は淡谷さんのことを、必ずしも尊敬の気持ちを込めずに｢淡谷先生｣などと呼んでいましたが、当人の淡谷さんは｢歌の世界に上下はないの。アタシを先生なんて呼ばないで｣とあしらっていました。

　さて淡谷さんの歌声ですが、ともかく上手の一言に尽きます!淡谷さんの歌を今の歌手達に聴かせてやりたいです。クラシックの基本がきちんと出来ていて、鼻歌で歌うような馬鹿な仕草は全然していないのが素晴らしいです。特にCD3の｢マディーアナ｣と｢アマポーラ｣は絶品ですので聴いてください。
