ベストでどの曲もすばらしいが、大ヒット曲は収録されていない。ついでにどうかと思うが。1の償いの日々と6の今だからはデュエットしている。今だからはスローバージョン収録。サボテンの花もアレンジが違う。青春の影はオリジナルよりもダイナミックだ。全体的にミドルテンポの曲が多い。しかし、楽曲はすばらしい。メロディーメーカー財津の実績を知る上では最適。

　財津さんは、やはりチューリップ。しかし、このアルバムで、彼は見事な中年の雰囲気を醸し出してくれています。
　「青春の影」と「サボテンの花」はチューリプ時代の曲ですが、大人っぽく安心して聴くことができるのは、僕も同じように年輪を重ねてきからだと思います。「償いの日々」などは、演歌に聞こえてしまいそうなんですが、彼が歌うと大人の歌です。ミドル・エイジのナイスなアルバムです。

今回4度コンサートに出かけましたが、4曲目の‘冬のメインストリート’がとても気に入って早速購入しました。ライブでは財津さんとバックの伊豆田さんのハーモニーが最高で、とてもきれいで明るくてちょっぴりせつない感じが繊細に表現されていました。これから向かう季節'冬’にとてもぴったりです。16年以上も前に発表された曲とは知りませんでしたが、ちっとも古さを感じさせずとても新鮮な印象を受けます。名曲‘青春の影’も収録されていて、20004年ツアーの思い出として、最高の一枚になりそうです。
