1989年に発表された角松敏生プロデュースによる角松バンドのペーシスト青木智仁の1stソロアルバム。

角松さん色がかなり強く、角松さんの作曲やボーカルも含まれてます。

あと、ジャコ・パストリアスに捧げた“Mr.J.F.P”、
自らボーカルをとるビートルズのカバー曲“With A Little Help From My Friends”、
鈴木茂さんカバー（本人も参加、角松氏vo)の“砂の女”、
JとBの二人による共作曲“Linda”(演奏はJとBの二人＆NOBU CAINE)、
愛娘に捧げた“Risa”、
旧ポンタボックス・コンビ、ポンタ＆水野氏の手による“Amboseli”
などなど、フュージョンを中心に据えながらも幅広い音楽性も具わっている作品です。

参加メンバーがすごい顔ぶれで、鈴木茂、松原正樹、今剛、布川俊樹、浅野祥之、梶原順、松木恒秀、村上ポンタ秀一、島村英二、石川雅春、岡沢章(vo)、水野正敏、日野皓正、本田雅人、小池修、数原晋、平原まこと、斎藤ノブ、カルロス菅野、小林信吾、友成好宏、小倉泰治、難波正司、島健、ハイファイセット等などなど。

自分＆小林信吾プロデュースのトータリティが重視された2枚目の“EXEPERIENCE”より、
ベースプレイが目立ってます。

発売当時から収録曲の「リサ」が特に好きでした。
実の娘の名前を曲名にするなんて痛いなと思っていました。
本人の曲名への意図は知りませんが、亡くなられた今となっては涙を誘います。
全体的に角松敏生色が強い印象ですが、「ベーシストの為のベーシストの曲集」的なアルバム構成ではなく、メロディを楽しむ一般的なアルバム構成なので、ベーシスト以外の方でもお薦めです。
ベースの音色が非常にエッジの効いた音色ですが、楽曲的に合っていると思います。

あたくしが住んでいる本州（りく）の孤島に角松敏生のバックで来たとき、あたくしは高校生でした。そのころカシオペア野呂一生に憧れてギターばかり弾いていましたが、青木のベース観てぶっ飛んでしまいました状態で、結果セミオーダーのベース（日本に１２本しかないはずです。）を作ってしまいました！！！その後からベースに没頭しました。あのプレイ、カルチャーショックでした。ンペンペでありププププであり「マカミラ」、「ジャコパス」その・・・なんて言うか・・・うまく表現できないんですが、カッコイイんです！！カックイイんです。
