おとなしめの前半。【7】から盛り上がりを見せて、
【10】【11】で頂点に達し、【12】再び静かに幕を下ろす。
ライブ感覚の曲順。後半に進むほどにコーラスワークも絶品。

大ヒット曲の【11】もありながら、【9】を推しておきます。

舞い上がったり、落ち込んだり、忙しい恋を軽快なメロディ、
主旋律・副旋律の掛け合い見事に表現されています。
10代20代の若者向けのかわいらしく、ポップな一曲。

小田和正のソロアルバム「Ｋ．Ｏｄａ」「ＢＥＴＷＥＥＮ　ＴＨＥ　ＷＯＲＤ　＆　ＴＨＥ　ＨＥＡＲＴ」「Ｆａｒ　Ｅａｓｔ　Ｃａｆｅ」の３枚の後に出されたベスト盤。ファンにとっては、オリジナル・アルバムを尊重するので特別必要のないものと思えてしまう……にも関わらず、買わずにはいられないというのが困ったところ。ただ、〈10：ＦＡＲ　ＥＡＳＴ　ＣＬＵＢ　ＢＡＮＤ　ＳＯＮＧ〉は、このアルバムでしか聞くことのできないものなので、やっぱり買わないわけにはいかない。（かっこいい曲です。）他には、シングル曲も収められており、「東京ラブ・ストーリー」のテーマ曲であり記録的セールスを生み出した〈11：ラブ・ストーリーは突然に〉、ヒット曲〈12：Ｏｈ！　Ｙｅａｈ！〉などもある。前出の３枚のオリジナルアルバムに収録されている曲については、ここでは敢えてコメントを控えさせてもらいます。

選曲にはかなり、迷われたのではなかろうか…？。また、大ヒット曲「Oh! Yeah!/ラブストーリーは突然に」の直後である。このシングルは、両A面というかたちであったが、レコード(EP)では無いのでどちらが、1曲目になるかと思っていたら「Oh! Yeah!」だった。小田さんらしい選択であると思った。そして、このアルバムでも、同じタイトルを取り上げ、「ラブストーリーは突然に」は、ドラマの内容を意識してそれを元に書いたものであるから小田さんとしては当然の選択である。本人でない限り分からないことであるが、思い入れは、「Oh! Yeah!」のほうが強かったのでは？。或いは、ドラマの主題歌の影響で売れたことにより、小田和正=「ラブストーリーは突然に」と捉えられることを非常に嫌っていたのではないかとも伺える。「Far East Club Band Song」が、強烈な印象であった！。初めて聴いて、良い曲だなと思いつつ嬉しかった。また、1曲目の「空が高すぎる」はOFF COURSE時代に書かれた初ソロアルバム『K.ODA』の最後に収録された曲で、この作品でもそうだが、小田さんの云うところの「僕等」=２人、5人時代のOff Courseであったことが伺える。Yassさんのいない寂しさ…小田さんにしか分からない、やり場の無い心の叫びが痛烈に伝わってくる。一聴しただけで涙が…。真のOff Courseファンの方々なら、すぐに気付いたことだろう。この曲と『K.ODA』の冒頭の「切ない愛のうたをきかせて」は当時の小田さんからYassさんへのメッセージ…。
