4月27日の「植木等さん 夢をありがとう さよならの会」行ってきました！式の始まる前にこのスーダラ伝説(メドレー)をクレイジーキャッツの方々がインストルメンツで演奏されたものが流れていて感激しました！遺影もこのときのCDの中にある、花柄のシャツのニコニコの植木さんでした。素敵でした。一緒に行った5歳の息子も完璧に歌えます。毎朝聞いてます♪
植木さんファンの私に高校生の時(もう、15年も前ですね)に友人が誕生日プレゼントとしてくれたこの1枚。辛い落ち込んだ時はいつも、「そのうちなんとかな〜るだろう〜」「わかっちゃいるけどやめられないっ！」と明るい植木さんに助けられました。なんとかなるんです！
これからも、聞きつづけて行きたい1枚です♪
植木等さんありがとうございます！！

１０年以上前の録音になりますが、植木等さんが宮川泰さんと組んで、クレイジーキャッツの名曲をメドレーにしたのが、タイトルの「スーダラ伝説」。これは聴きごたえありますね。エンディングに第九が重なってくるのですが、物凄いフィナーレが用意されています。植木さんの軽さがいいですね。世相がどんどん重くなってますので、パッと明るく行こうと言っているようにも受け取れます。歌詞は、主に青島幸雄さんの手によるものですが、今もって十分通用しますね。ギャグに潜ませた皮肉と風刺が流石です。他にも、浜口庫之助さん、中村メイコ＆神津善行の懐かしい曲を植木さんが情感たっぷりに聞かせてくれます。スーダラ節の平成ヴァージョン、昭和ヴァージョンも収められています。何と言ってもクレイジーキャッツのファンの方にはお勧めです。

これは、まさに《隠れ名盤》です。笑える曲、泣ける曲など、バラエティに富んでいながらも、アルバム全体に、いかにも《植木等》らしさが流れています。個人的には、しみじみと聴かせる名曲「銀座イエスタディ」が、一番のお気に入りです。パブリック・イメージ通りの《植木等》と、一味ちがう《植木等》が、バランス良く融合された 《珠玉の名盤》だと思います。
