　聖飢魔Uといえば日本を代表するヘヴィメタルバンドの一つとしても有名だが、忘れてはならないのがデーモン小暮が在籍してたバンドだということだろう。そして1999年の解散の目前に発表された彼らのベストアルバムが本作の「1999　BLACK　LIST　本家極悪集大成盤」である。

　本作に収録されている曲は今までの傑作曲を中心に収録した内容だが、ただし初期の曲は最新録音バージョンとなっている。全体的に見ても今までの聖飢魔Uの代表曲ばかり収録されているが、個人的にどうせベストアルバムにするなら2枚組みすればよかった気もするが、全体的に聴き応えがあった良いと思う。特に初期の名曲の最新録音ヴァージョンが原曲より新鮮味があってよいと思うが、ただ「蝋人形の館９９」のイントロが省略されてしまっていたのがとても残念だった。だが全体的に聴き応えがあるアルバムなので聖飢魔Uのファンはもちろん、聖飢魔Uに興味がある者や入門者などにはお勧めできる作品といえるだろう。

全19曲中、11曲（蝋人形含む）が新たにレコーディングされているので、
殆ど教典は持っているという人も新鮮に聴けるだろう。
中でも個人的に EL.DORADOがミサと同じアレンジで収録されていることが
嬉しい。最後のサビの部分での参謀の速弾きは何度聴いても燃える。

我らが神、いや、悪魔、聖飢魔Uのベスト盤シリーズ、通称「銀盤」。

活動初期〜後期の楽曲で緩急、ヴァリエーションに富んだ構成で、金盤や銅盤と比べてより叙情的なメロディを主軸にしたスピーディな楽曲が並んでいるのが印象的。

メタルという狭義の範疇を超えて万人受けしそうな＃５“Masquerade”〜＃７“サクラちってサクラ咲いて”、一転メタリック＆メロディックに弾ける＃８“敗れざる者たち”〜＃１２“Fire　After　Fire”、組曲＃１３〜＃１７、テクニカルな間奏部が印象的な極上のバラード＃１８“嵐の予感”、ミサの定番ラストソングであり、バブル時代を痛烈に皮肉った名曲＃１９“El　Dorado”など、すべてがグレート。

これを聴くと、彼らがいかに過小評価されてきたかがよくわかる。
演奏、メロディ、知性が高次元で融合した楽曲が並ぶ名ベスト盤。

信者以外の人の入門編にはうってつけの一枚。
