冒頭の「OVERTURE〜TAKE OFF MELODY」はメロディーライン、アレンジ、コーラスアレンジも完璧、そして大谷和夫氏のストリングスアレンジがより良い作品に仕上げている。エンディングの「THE BEST OF LOVE」もコーラスアレンジ、ブラスアレンジでゴージャスな仕上がり、このシングルバージョンもアレンジが全く異なりお勧め（CD未発表）だが...同年１９８６年に中山美穂『SUMMER BREEZE』に３曲ほど提供しており、アルバムを聴いて何れが角松作品かすぐに分かる。Mac Plusで打ち込み、シンセ、リズムマシンを同期させて斬新な音作りをしていた。トリは「You're My Only Shinin' Star」（ドラムとベースは生バージョンでオリジナル。ミポリンがコンサートで取り上げてから次第に人気を増し、ついに２年後シングルカットとなる。ドラムマシンとシンセベースによる打ち込みとボーカルリテイク。この１９８８年は角松敏生プロデュースによる『CATCH THE NITE』で１位を獲得、後のダンス☆マンとなる藤沢秀樹がいたJADOESも参加している）

多分レビューのタイトルに於ける解釈で、アルバムジャケットを見れば分かるように、航空機に於ける専門知識的用語を引用している。個人的には「OVERTURE〜TAKE OFF MELODY」が好き。この人は必ずと云っていいほど冒頭の曲で期待をさせてくれる。

このアルバムは、20歳頃に(現在倍の40歳)当時付き合っていた彼女から、カセットにとってもらい、よく聞いていました。角松を知ったのは、その彼女から１つ前のアルバム「T's BALLAD」のテープをもらったのがきっかけでした。もともとバラードが好きなのですが、この「TOUCH AND GO」はバラードらしき曲があまりなく、最初はあまり聞かなかったのですが、聞いていくうちに角松の味が出てきたような感じでした。改めて聞き返し、参加ミュージシャンを見ていると、１曲目のBack Ground Vocalに国分友里恵の名が！また半分の曲にあの名ﾄﾞﾗﾏｰの故YOGI HORTONが担当しているのを改めて知り、このアルバムの凄さを再確認しました。20年たった今聞きなおしても全く古さを感じさせないアルバムなど、なかなかないと思いますし、このアルバムが、ある意味角松の原点の一つといっても過言ではないかと思います。
