　シャ乱Qは男女関係が逆転した時代の"演歌"である。演歌の力学では男が女を捨て、女が男にすがる。終わった恋に未練がましいのは決まって女のほうだ。男性歌手が女言葉で歌うなんて倒錯パターンもあるが、基本的には女心を歌っているのである。
　翻ってシャ乱Q。
あいつみたいな顔に生まれりゃきっと楽しい人生のはずなんて考えたりした（いいわけ）
　このつんくの歌詞はすごい。この感性って一昔前なら完璧に"女"のものだ。あるいは、
初めて抱いた夜ほら　俺の方が震えてたね（シングルベッド）
　昔っから実はそうだったんじゃないかと思う。でも、"男のほうこそ実は女である"っていうのを、こんなに素直にカムアウトしちゃうとは！90年代をそれなりに若い男として生きた者にとっても、シャ乱Qは妙にシンパシーを抱く感性なのである。シャ乱Qが男女関係が逆転した時代の"演歌"であることは、あのホストチックな衣装、どんどん細く、そして角度が付いていったつんくの眉に象徴的だ。
　そして、なんといっても情けなさ、やるせなさ、どうしようもなさが溢れ、女々しさ全開なのが「ズルい女」だろう。
あんたほんといい女だったよ最後もう一度抱きたいよ（ズルい女）
　これって、女と別れるのが決定的になった時"最後に一発ヤっときたい"っていう身も蓋もないけど、男なら誰しもが思ったことのある心情だ。こんな情けなくて姑息でピュアな歌もないだろう。
　「歌謡曲」のキモって歌詞、言霊だと思うし、シャ乱QがJポップか歌謡曲かと言えば、その歌詞によって歌謡曲なのである。そしてつんく♂がその後進んだ方向性にもスンナリと納得出来てしまうのだ。

シャランQのヒット作がぎゅっとこの1枚に込められていて、本当に得した気分。何回も聞き直しました。
飾りのない、現実的に詩がとてもいいです。
シャランQは演歌っぽい所がとても好きです。

特に「18ヶ月」がお勧め。

「18ヶ月過ごしたこの部屋の中今誰もいないよ･･･」「こんなに愛してたって、終わりが来る･･･」「あなたの夢が叶ったら私の夢叶わない、そう言いながら、1人で食事してたおまえの寂しさに気づくのが遅すぎた･･･」

本当に心に染み入る恋の辛さ、痛さが伝わってくるシャランQの恋の歌は言葉では言い尽くせません。

恋がうまくいかない情けない男性像と日本的なメロディライン。そういう「歌謡曲」をホストみたいなバンドが演奏する、というシャ乱Ｑのスタイルは独特です。それでいて昭和時代にはムード歌謡が担っていた役割を継承している面もあると思います。男として、女性ファンが「シングルベット」や「ズルい女」や「いいわけ」で描かれる世界をどうとらえているのか、非常に興味があるところです。
