70年代フォークのような暗いジャケット。本当に角松のアルバムかと一瞬我目を疑った。タイトルも随分今までとイメージが違うじゃないか,何があったんだ角松?#辛い恋でもしているのだろうか。一つ一つのフレーズが冷たいシャーベットみたい。しみる。

ただ一人の女性の心を取り戻すためだけに綴られた作品。
全編凄まじいばかりの情念で貫かれている。
そのあまりの気迫に第三者で無関係な筈のリスナーでさえ、この人はこのまま死んでしまうんじゃないか？と思わず動揺してしまう。
結果この作品が相手の心に届くことは無く、精神的に追い込まれてそのままソロ活動休止へ。
人生は思い通りにいかないものだなとしみじみ思う。

シーケンサーの過激すぎるほどの強力な音の壁、舞い上がるメロディーラインと共に全身全霊で振り絞るボーカル、
そこに加え青木智仁のベースが攻撃的に主張する1（タイトルが素晴らしい）にまずは圧倒されよう。

自分の元を離れていく女性に対するメッセイジとして作られた、極めて個人的なアルバム。打ち込みを多用して、他のミュージシャンをあまり使っていないことからも、彼はこのアルバムをできる限り独力で、かつ一日でも早く完成しリリースしたかったに違いない。歌詞を細かく聞いていくと、「相手の女性」は某エアラインの客室乗務員だったことがうかがわれる（事実そうらしい）。離れていく相手に対する（自分勝手な）怒りや恨み、感謝、嫉妬、優しさ、理解といった、時として矛盾する一人の男の感情が抑制されることなく吐露されていて、その生々しさがかえってこのアルバムを傑作と呼ぶにふさわしい作品にしている。「僕の音楽が君の気持ちを変えられないなら、音楽なんて僕にとって意味のないものだ」と、歌詞カードの最後に（おそらく角松自身の直筆で）英文で綴られているのだが、結果として彼女を振り向かすことができなかった彼は、このアルバムを最後に音楽活動を（本当に！）休止してしまった。一人のミュージシャンの魂が込められた希有な作品。

角松敏生さんは、音楽プロデューサー、メロディメーカー、ソングライターと、その総合的音楽クリエイターとして日本の音楽シーンに革新的サウンドを提供してきた、その実績はすでに申し分ない、本作は角松さんがアルバムにひとつのテーマをコンセプトに創作した名作中の名作である、個人的には「モノレール」「あるがままに」が好きなサウンドテイストである、このアルバムの良さを知る人は真の角松敏生ファンである
