4.0 out of 5 stars なかなか良いエイリアン4サントラ, 2004/11/22
アメリカＦＯＸの1998年公開SF映画のスコアサントラ盤。あのエイリアンの４作目。映画自体は見ていないので内容は知らないが評判はさまざま出ていてあまり良く無いものもある。けど音楽のほうはそれなりに良い感じです。エイリアンシリーズは全作監督・音楽は違うが(主演だけ同じ)このエイリアン4はジョン・フリッゼルが音楽を担当した(このエイリアン4の監督はアメリのジャン＝ピエール・ジュネ)。このエイリアン4の音楽を担当したジョン・フリッゼルはこのほか「ダンテズ・ピーク(97)」(テーマ曲はジェームズ・ニュートン・ハワードが担当しテーマ曲以外を担当)や「13ゴースト(01)」、「ゴーストシップ(02)」、「ブラック・ダイヤモンド(03)」などを担当。このエイリアン4の音楽はシリーズ通しての印象を守って少し暗い印象です(映画の内容がSFホラーですからね)。エイリアンのベスト盤ではないけれどエイリアンシリーズの各音楽の似てるところがあって面白い。エイリアン1のジェリー・ゴールドスミスに少し似ているところもあればエイリアン2のジェームス・ホーナーのアクションスコアに影響を受けていそうなトラックもあればエイリアン3の前衛的にも聞こえるスコアも中にはある。けど全くのパクリという訳ではなく微妙にその感じがするぐらいです。そして私は知りませんでしたがエイリアンシリーズは必ず１曲はクラック曲が使われるらしいのだがこのエイリアン4はヘンデルの歌劇「ジュリアス・シーザー」から「すべての救いも慰めも奪われて」が収録されています。親しみやすいフレーズや軽快なテーマが登場するような物ではないが美しいリプリーのテーマや不協和音の曲もなかなか良いですよ。
