キーシンは今回のショパン・アルバムでも明快なコンセプトを打ち出し、スケールが大きく聴き応え十分な演奏を繰り広げている。細部まで作りが克明で、魅力ある表現に彩られているが、全体の流れもしっかりと見据えられている。充実感の残る一枚。★


内容 (「CDジャーナル・レビュー」より)

前作の「バラード」も見事だったが、この録音でもキーシンの好調はつづいている。「前奏曲集」では、24曲それぞれの性格を克明に描き分け、隅々まで彫琢を尽くすとともに、作品に不可欠な即興性も存分にいかされている。キーシンの音は東欧の風景を見るような少しくすんだもので、ポリーニやアルゲリッチのようなラテン的輝きのある響きとは一線を画す。けれども、ポーランドの大地に根ざしたようなその響きは、ショパンの原風景は本来はこうしたものという確信を抱かせるに十分だ。きわめてストイックな解釈はショパンをサロン的な音楽と解する人には向かないかもしれないが、キーシンがもたらすメッセージはとても深く、重い。「葬送」ソナタも作品のユニークな全体像を明確に打ち出した名演。終楽章の幽玄な味わいはすでに巨匠の域に達している。雄渾な「英雄」ポロネーズによって、まるで充実した一夜の演奏会を聴くようなプログラムは閉じられる。 (岡本稔) --- 2000年03月号

太く、力強いショパンという印象です。いつのまにキーシンはこんな精神力を身につけてしまったのでしょう。「私はこう弾きたいと思い、その解釈に絶対の自信を持っているからこそ、このような演奏になるのです。」という感じの、実に堂々とした演奏です。前奏曲４番のような単純な曲でも、たっぷりとメロディを歌い込んでくる濃厚系の表現で統一されているのがポイントで、少し音色が堅いイメージが残る点だけが惜しいと思います。彼は弱音系の音色が少ないので、弱音そのものを減らしているためと思われ、このあたりは更なる研鑽が求められるところでしょう。
なお併せて収録されたソナタ２番と英雄ポロネーズは超名演です。ソナタ２番は第一楽章のリピートが省略されているのが惜しいと思いますが（あまりに素晴らしいのでもう一度聴きたいのです）、それ以外は文句のつけようがなく、キーシンのこの録音をして同曲の最高の演奏という人も多いでしょう。英雄ポロネーズも若者らしい生き生きとしたリズムで弾ききっており、実に爽快な演奏といえます。

私のレビューは客観性が無く感情的で常に稚拙でお恥ずかしいですが、あえて投稿します。　主観ですが　ＣＤをたくさん聴いてこの一枚！！
ノクターンはアシュケナージ（最近のポリーニもオススメですが）
ポロネーズはリヒテル、そしてプレリュードはキーシン！！！！
↓の方が仰る”キーシンはいつのまにこんな精神力を身につけてしまったのでしょう”と私も全く同じように思いました。
それは彼のこのプレリュードの東京公演を聴いてからです。
正直、神童時代は遠ざかってたピアニストでしたが
彼の東京公演、そしてショパンで最も興味の無かったプレリュードを聴いて変わりました。それは鳥肌が立ちました。強くしなやかで繊細、時に熱く時に薄い美しいガラスのように美しく儚く、しかし甘すぎずショパンにある複雑な面々をキーシンの演奏は余すところ無く演奏しています。
特に24番のニ短調は名演です。祖国と家族友人を想うショパンの激しくも悲しい想いが伝わってくるようで涙が止まりません。

殊更テクニックをひけらかそうという訳でもなく感情を爆発させたような演奏でもない。奇をてらって個性的であろうという演奏でもない。技術的に凡庸でもない。
しかし通して聴くと、ショパンの音楽の素晴らしさに感動してしまう。ついついこのＣＤに手が伸びてしまう。
要するに、巨匠的な演奏なのだが、このスタイルがキーシンの特色だ。安心して身を任せられる演奏である。
併録の「ピアノソナタ第２番」、「英雄ポロネーズ」も素晴らしい。どこをとっても、私にとってはこれ以上の演奏が見つからないほどの、優秀なＣＤだ。
