　今まで「ラフマニノフ/ピアノ協奏曲第３番」のＣＤをいろんなピアニストのバージョンを揃えてきましたが、
キーシンの演奏を聴いた時には今まで聴いた事の無い、素晴らしい演奏にすぐ夢中になりました。
これはライブ録音なのですが、音の崩れが無く音色がとても綺麗でまるで宝石のような演奏です。

1楽章のカデンツァも素晴らしいのですが、２楽章も静かでありでも熱くもある、３楽章もこれでもかこれでもか
というクライマックス、とても聴き応えのある演奏です。
また、テンポも嫌味の無い調度良い感じで小澤指揮との絶妙なバランスによって成り立っているんだなと改めて感じました。

演奏が終わった時の拍手と歓声がまた良く、その場にいるような気になってしまいますね。
　ただ、ＤＶＤがあればもっと良いのですが・・・無いのでしょうね。

ピアノの始めのテーマが始まると、ややゆっくりめの語りかけるような歌い方、哀愁を帯びた音色に背中がゾクッとして、どんどん演奏に引きずり込まれて行きました。　ライブ盤ならではの臨場感です。　キーシンのすばらしい集中力とあざやかなテクニックは圧巻です!!　メインの『第三番』だけではなく、アンコール曲もよく考えられた選曲で、ラフマニノフの世界に浸れます。　ピアノ版『ヴォカリーズ』はさりげなくすばらしく、おまけの『スペイン狂詩曲』は圧倒的なテクニックが冴え、『献呈』は何とも美しい曲です。　小澤征爾・指揮、ボストン響というのもいいではないか…

93年度レコードアカデミー賞を受賞したアルバム。キーシンは比較的オーソドックスに弾いているけど冒頭のメロディはゆっくり目のテンポで演奏。ゆっくり弾いているのはキーシンとアシュケナージしか聴いたことないけどゆっくりの方が心に響いて染みわたってくる。特にキーシンはこのメロディを1音1音大切に弾いている。そしてだんだんと熱を帯びていき、カデンツァで爆発。カデンツァは大カデンツァの方を弾いている。2、3楽章もキーシンの完璧な技巧によってすばらしい演奏になっている。ピアノとオケが1つになった奇跡の演奏。演奏終了後の拍手も気がついたら自分も一緒に拍手してしまうほど感動的な演奏。ちなみにアンコールはヴォカリーズと前奏曲だけ。スペイン狂詩曲と献呈はカーネギーでのライヴ録音。ただこのアルバムの欠点はラフマニノフの曲は音量が小さく、音量を上げないと聞こえにくい。逆にカーネギーの録音は普通の音量。でもキーシンの演奏はすばらしいので★は減点しない。
