サントラといっても,全米大ヒット作を元にして作られたイメージ・アルバム。ほとんどの曲は映画で使われていない。しかし123679が新曲,あるいは未発表作であるほか,81012といったなつかしいナンバーも収録し,十分楽しめるコンピレーションだ。

本盤は、サントラではなく、映画にインスパイアされて作られた歌を中心に集めたイメージアルバムで、
この中の数曲は流れたらしいですが、それ以外のほとんどの歌は映画では流れません。
劇中の映画音楽は一切収録されていないので注意。
(ビリー・アイドル、ロッド・スチュワート、キッス他メンバーは豪華)
別に存在する、Mark Mancina による、"Speed: Original Motion Picture Score" が本当のサントラで、
こちらは国内盤は無いが、Amazonで輸入版が購入できるので、サントラ、映画音楽はこちらをおすすめします。

知りませんでした（汗）。
8,10,12などの大御所はさすがに知ってますが、特に聴いた事はなく。
それ以外は、全くわからない・・・。

でも、これいいですよ！
全体的に、パワーポップ、テクノ系、カントリー調、王道ロックンロール・・・とざっと思いつくだけでも、様々なテイストがあって、聴いていて飽きません。
明るくテンポよく・・・というよりは、演奏がシンプルな曲が多いせいか、大人向けの渋めな感じに思えます。
曲調も、メロディアスな曲もどこかサラッとしていて、入れ込んで聴くというよりは、BGM向きかもと思います。
個人的には、同じ節が一定的に流れ続ける4,6は聴いていてちょっと飽きましたが、曲自体は悪くない。
自分としては意外な事に、今まで聴いた事のないキッスも好きだった（笑）。
すごく好きなのもないけど、嫌悪するほどのものもなくて、ほどほどにまとまっていて、総合的には好みの仕上がり。
「スピードのサントラ」という概念は取っ払って、コンピアルバムとして聴いてOKだと思います。
