映画監督(柳ユーレイ)が撮影中に見た、ある映像を発端に、映画撮影所で次々に起こる怪奇現象を描く、正統派の恐怖映画。
「長い黒髪で顔の見えない白いワンピースの幽霊」「音もなくそこに立っている幽霊」「針で顔を突かれた写真」
「映像に残っている霊」「ちょっとした音」など、後に多用されるＪホラーの要素が詰まっています。
古い映像に映っている女の人は静かに怖く、撮影中に突然騒ぎ出す女の子はショッキングに怖い。
ストーリーに連なるこれらのシーンの積み重ねが、徐々に恐怖感を味わえてうまい。
撮影所・スタジオや劇場は、幽霊話がよくあるそうですからもってこいの場所ですね。

監督・原案：中田秀夫（劇場映画デビュー作）、脚本：高橋洋という、後の映画「リング」(1998年)のコンビによる、Jホラーの原点。
主演の柳ユーレイは、後に「リング」「呪怨」にも出演、本作でもデビュー作を撮る新人監督を演じ、静かにいい味出してます。
共演は、白島靖代(櫻の園)、石橋けい、他ですが、特に「石橋けい」は、TV平成ウルトラシリーズや「有言実行三姉妹シュシュトリアン」で特撮ファンにはお慣れ染みでした。

ラストカットも良くて気に入ってます。注目。よーく見てください。

　映画監督の村井俊男(柳ユーレイ)は自身の第一回監督作品を撮影していた。村井は映像チェック中に写り込むはずのない“奇怪な映像”を見つけた。それを機に撮影所内で次々と怪現象が起こった。

　戦時中の作品シーンがだらだらと流れるのはテンポが悪い。“奇怪な映像”の分析をストーリーの主軸に据えなかったのは残念。鏡を利用した恐怖演出、ぼんやりとした霊の恐怖映像は完成度は低いが恐怖感を味わえるレベルだ。『リング』『ほの暗い水の底から』『ラストシーン』以前の中田秀夫監督作品ゆえに、これらの作品の源泉に触れられるのは嬉しい。
