   1998年にテレビ東京及びWOWOWで放送され、絶大な支持を受けたSFハードボイルドアニメーション。2071年、宇宙を舞台に、無法者や犯罪者を追う賞金稼ぎ、スパイクとジェット、そしてフェイらの活躍を描く。
   第9巻ではラストエピソードとなる第25・26話「ザ・リアル・フォークブルース」前後編を収録。レッドドラゴンの長老たちが危険分子排除のために動き出し、スパイクにもその手がのびる。そのころ、ビシャスは謀反（むほん）を起こし組織を支配。スパイクはフェイがとめるのも聞かず、ビシャスとの最後の戦いへ赴く･･･。
   ジュリア登場の冒頭から松田優作版『野獣死すべし』を思わせるラストシーンまで、本作の魅力のひとつであったコミカルな側面は影をひそめ、緊張感あふれる展開には片時も目を離すことができない。（田中　元）

流石カウボーイビバップ、といったところでしょうか。
終わり方が綺麗でした。今までお子様向けのちゃちなアニメしか見てこなかった私だったので、初めてアニメの真髄に触れたような気がしました。
アニメの曲とは思えない音楽と、大人な雰囲気の画面、いきなりの急展開に目が離せないストーリー・・・たかがアニメと思わずにいっぺん見てください。

お勧めです。

ＣＯＷＢＯＹ　ＢＥＢＯＰという作品を全体の中から通して、ビシャスの絡む『堕天使たちのバラッド』、『ジュピター・ジャズ』前・後編、そしてこの9ｔｈSessionに収録の『ザリアルフォークブルース』前・後編はグッくる熱い何かを感じえる筈。それもアニメーションというものを遥かに凌駕する出来。中でも、この『ザリアルフォークブルース』は『カウボーイビバップ』ではなく、『ザリアルフォークブルース』というひとつのメインタイトルに仕上げても可能な程！
耳を傾ければ流れているＢＧＭ、挿入歌も最高の音楽で、菅野よう子の素晴らしさにも気付く筈。僕はビバップの挿入歌にハマった一人であります。
これは見て損はないと思います。

夢のようなビバップ号の生活を捨て、現実の世界に目を向け決闘に挑む。
その決闘の果ては…

スパイクは、矢吹丈と同じようにどこか夢の中で生きていたようなキャラクターだった。
ラストの燃え尽きるような生き方は、同性が見てカッコイイと思える行き方だった。
今のような男が弱くなってしまった時代だからこそ、ヒーローとして誕生したのではないだろうか。

キャラクターに存在感を感じるアニメが実写のように思えた作品だった。
音楽も映像も素晴らしく本当に最後まで楽しめました。
