   1998年に放送され絶大な支持を受けたSFハードボイルドアニメーション。2071年、ワープ航法が実用化されている時代の太陽系を舞台に、無法者や犯罪者を追うカウボーイ＝賞金稼ぎコンビのスパイクとジェット、女賞金稼ぎフェイ、天才少女ハッカーのエド、そして犬のアイン、宇宙船ビバップ号で行動を共にする彼ら一行の活躍を描く。
   各話ごとに彼らが追う賞金首たちのドラマを中心に1話完結で展開しつつ、全体を通してはそれぞれの背景に迫る物語が進行、軽いコメディタッチからシリアスまで、幅広くも統一感のある引き締まった出来となっている。また、TVシリーズ全26話のほか、22話と23話の間に位置する内容の劇場用長編が放送後に製作されており、あえて後日談にしなかったところにクリエイターの潔さを感じさせる。（田中　元）

　１１話。一見シリウスに見える展開なのですが、中身オチともにひたすらギャグ。最後のクラシックでのワルツシーンはひたすら見ていて笑いがこみ上げてくる。ビバップ史上、もっとも印象深い話になる。
　１２話はビシャスが再登場。スパイクとの過去にからんでくるので絶対に見逃せない。

さすらう賞金稼ぎたちの毎日は楽なもんじゃないわけで、汚ったねぇ中古の漁船の維持費だって莫迦にならないのに、そろいもそろってこいつらときたら好き勝手やっちまってる。周りが見えなくなるモサモサ。よく喰うロマニ-。ふにゃふにゃの欠食児童。愚痴る主夫。茶色のスリーピング・ビースト。セッションするにはある意味最凶な４人と一匹の物語。この回も最高！！つーぅかジェット渋いねー。モサモサに「浪花節だぜ...。」って（お前も仁義じゃん）くるみ割り人形ってくるみで出来てるの？チャ-リー・パーカー・クインテットっっっフィーチャリングマイルス・ディヴィス。早く見なきゃ乗り遅れちゃうぞ！

この作品をはじめてみたのは02年毎日放送での再放送でした。
はじめて見たときこんなにもかっこよくおもしろいアニメがなぜ前から脚光を浴びなかったのか疑問に思いました。ここまで全話完璧に施されたアニメはファーストルパン以来の出来ではないのかと私は思います。なんせテレビ東京では98年頃金曜の18時に数話しか放送されていなかったんだから当時わかるわけなかった・・・（ＷＯＷＯＷはとってないし・・・）テレビ東京など地上波局は視聴率だけで作品を判断して作品そのものの出来に対しては見向きもしてないのではないかとおもいます。さらに監督の渡辺信一郎さんはカウボーイビバップにつづき、
監督最新作サムライチャンプルーも地上波を打ち切りにされたそうで、
渡辺監督は運がなさすぎるのでしょうか？それとも地上波に嫌われているとか・・・
