ジャンヌの通算三枚目、インディーズでは最後に出したミニアルバムです。
初期から聞いていても、最近ジャンヌを好きなって聞き直しても、多分「ああ、ジャンヌっぽいなぁ」と感じられる一枚だと思います。
この頃から「最初にフック、次でパンチ、一旦落として加速してラスト」というジャンヌのアルバム王道パターンは変わっていません。
一曲目「Desparate」はそれほど激しくもなく、ちょっとミステリアスなキーボードのフレーズ（X-Fileチックともいう）でこのアルバムへと引き込んでいく曲。
そして二曲目の「-R-type-」は度級にハードでキャッチーな曲。この曲だけでもうこのアルバムを買うだけの価値有りと言えます。内容は今にも通じる「遊んでるん男なんだけど…どこか切ない」yasuの詞のパターンの一つ。
パターンと言えば、完全エロティシズムをひた走る「labyrinth」はイントロからガツンと来るジャンヌらしさ爆発のハードな曲。
そしてその余韻を不思議な気持ちで持って行ってしまう「Strange voice」…ジャンヌのいわゆる「ジャンヌらしさ」が凝縮されています。
勿論演奏力やアレンジは今には及びませんが、それらを感じさせないほどよいです。今のジャンヌが好きな人にこそ聞いて欲しいと思います。

人気バンド、Janne Da Arcのインディーズ時代のミニアルバム♪

３枚あるインディーズのミニアルバムのうち、一番新しく発表されたものです。

「CHAOS MODE」と名打たれ、ジャケットも危ない気配のするアルバムですが、
聴きやすいサウンドに、耽美的な歌詞が美しく、
誰でもジャンヌの世界に入り込める構成になっています。

インディーズなのに今と変わらないほどすべてが完成されているので、
現在の彼らを知っている方はこの音源を聞いてびっくりすると思います。
もちろん、彼らが武器にする聴いたことあるような懐かしさを持つ格好よさも抜群で、
特に、激しいサウンド、メロディアスな旋律、
ボ-カルの美しい声が自慢の「-R-TYPE-「瞳の色」」は必聴ですよ♪
この曲は編曲なしで今シングルにして発表しても上位を狙える、
ほんとうに完成度の高い卓越した楽曲です！

また、「Labyrinth」はジャンヌ史上最高のセクシャルな歌詞で、
この歌詞を超えたジャンヌを私は知りません(笑）

ほかにも、木漏れ日の中で聴いていたいような楽曲や、
初期ジャンヌらしいゴシックな作品も収録されています。

それらのカラフルな楽曲に共通して言えることは「完成度」。
メンバーの５人ともがしっかり自己主張しているにもかかわらず、
一曲のテ-マを持った作品として確実に完成されている。
現在の人気も頷ける実力を秘めたインディ-ズ・ミニアルバム。

ジャンヌの軌跡を是非聞いてみてください。

この２曲が特に好きです。
歌詞がいい上に、とても演奏力が高いと思います。
ギターのソロなどは脱帽ものです
