僕とOBLIVION DUSTの出会いはラジオから流れてきた「THERAPY」(２曲目)でした。この曲が流れてきた瞬間、ダッシュでメモの用意をしたのを覚えてます。で、CDショップでOBLIVION DUSTを探したが見つからず…。そりゃそうです、洋楽コーナーを探していたんです…。はじめてOBLIVION DUSTを聴く人は、洋楽だと思ってしまうのではないでしょうか。その後、ギターのKAZがhide with Spread Beaverに参加していたことを知り、ビックリしました。hideも大好きだったので。
決してキャッチーとは言えない壊れそうなメロディと、アルバム全体に漂う何とも言えない疎外感は、誰にでも受け入れられるとは思いません。でも、こんなアルバム滅多にないと思います。ラストを飾る「FUTURE WOMB」はhideに捧げられた名曲です。
