大学生だったヴォーカル&ギターのサム・ウォードナーとドラマーのラヴィが出会ったことがきっかけで結成されたというイギリス出身の4人組マイ・ヴィトリオールのデビュー・アルバム。特にシングルになった「オールウェイズ・ユア・ウェイ」などのポップなギター・ロックから、叫びまくるだけの短い「コールストリーム」なんていうタイプの曲もあったりして、なかなか一筋縄ではいかないところが興味深い。また知的なヴォーカルやコーラス、そしてけっこうライヴで鍛えられているらしい演奏ぶりも聴きものだ。 (関本史生) --- 2001年05月号

ギターの旋律が美しいUKロック。スカッと明るい曲調、わかりやすい曲が好きな方にはお奨めできないが、美しく心に響くメロディ。新人ならではの力強さとこだわりも感じる。1年以上聴き続けているが、未だ全く飽きがこない。掘り出したな、という喜び未だあります。

流麗なギター・ワークにからむ、
出色のメロディライン、

たまたま入ったCDショップで音楽を聞いて、ガツンッとやられて、国内盤にも関わらず買ってしまいました。通常は安い輸入盤が出るまで待つんですが、このアルバムは待てなかった。
若く、過激で、奇麗で、鮮烈、このアルバムの核となる曲をわずか2日で作り上げていく天性の音楽性。
もう、何年も経っているのに全然古さは感じないですね。

ユーズドで出して売れませんでしたが、却って良かったかなと思っています。
