This single features an all-star line up including, David Sylvian, DJ Krush, Arto Lindsay, Brian Eno, Talvin Singh, Cyndi Lauper among many other Japanese artists. 世界を駆け巡り、自ら現場調査をし、多くの音楽家たちと協力して地雷の除去運動を始めた坂本さんの行動力と思いやりには驚嘆させられた。同時に、様々な音楽家たちの持ち味をひとつに調和させて美しいメロディーにまで高めたことは、つくづく非凡なことだと痛感させられた。この一枚を買う私たちも平和運動に参加できる。人類全体の一致協力の尊さを訴える坂本さんの思想が傑作として結実した。地雷の犠牲者の冥福を祈りながら、今日もCDを愛聴している。とにかく、坂本さんに感謝している。

☆“ＬＡＮＤＭＩＮＥ”とは“地雷”のこと。世界には、地雷によって命や体の一部を失っていく子供たちがいまだに後を絶ちません。現地を訪れ、何かを感じた坂本龍一が発起者として日本内のアーティスト（Ｍｒ．Ｃｈｉｌｄｒｅｎ、ＧＲＡＹ、ドリームズ・カム・トゥルー、佐野元春、Ｃｈａｒａ、大貫妙子、シンディ・ローパー、デビッド・シルビアン他多数）を呼び集め、メッセージ的なシングルを制作しました。この売上金は、世界各地の地雷撤去の費用に当てられるということです。

コラージュされた各国の民族音楽と、
平和への願いが込められた歌声を聴くと、
世界中には、こんなにも美しい音楽と歌声があるのかと、
まず、そのことに感動します。

そして、クラフトワークによる「ZERO LANDMINE」という不気味なマシンヴォイスが、戦争と、それによって失われるすべてのものの象徴のように、耳に響きます。

2001年の「地雷ZERO運動」から既に二年が経とうとしていますが、
この曲に込められたメッセージは、戦争の危機が間近に差し迫っている今こそ必要となるものではないかと思います。

世界に溢れる美しい音楽。
そして、それを生み出した多様な民族、歴史、人々。

様々な要素によって生み出されたものの断片が美しく描かれているからこそ、坂本教授と、彼のもとに集まったミュージシャン達のメッセージが心に響きます。

そして、そのメッセージは恐らく、「非戦」。
「911ニューヨーク同時多発テロ」後に出版された「非戦」への序章がここにあると思います。
