彼らはアルバムを重ねる事にブラックから正統派ヘヴィメタルの要素が増していった。
それでも個人的に楽曲は格好良いから好きだが。
このアルバムに関しては初期のアルバムなので正統派ヘヴィメタルの要素は少なくどちらかというと真性ブラックメタルに近い。デビューアルバムもブラック色が強いが音質がスカスカなのでいただけなかった。今作は音質が格段に向上してるので良い。
真性ブラックの連中を好むリスナーはサウンドプロダクションに拘らなく音質が悪いほうが良いとする方が多数。
楽曲の質ば個人的に鬼女と野獣が最高傑作だがドラムの音が軽すぎるのが少し残念だったが。。
俺は真性ブラックの楽曲は好きだが音質には拘る性格なのでこのアルバムは最高だ。
分かりやすく言えば鬼女より真性ブラックに近くデビューアルバムより音質は向上して鬼女よりドラムは軽くない。
俺的には今作と鬼女は1、2位を争う傑作。
このバンドのアルバムは2000年のミディアン以降つまらない曲が増えた気がする。
cradle of filthはやっぱ真性ブラックメタルに近い音楽性を保ったままにしてほしかった。
とにかくこのアルバムは最高だ買え。

前作ﾐﾃﾞｨｱﾝとは少し雰囲気の違う感じがする。
全体の曲のスケールが広がっててすごくカッコいい！
頭の中に風景が浮かぶような感じ…？
ブラックメタルとゴシックメタルの融合??

イギリスのシンフォニックブラックメタルバンド、クレイドル・オブ・フィルスの2nd。1996作
壮麗に聴かせるシンフォニックなシンセワーク、ヴァンパイアをテーマにした耽美な世界観、
そして絶叫としわがれ声を巧みに使い分けるヴォーカルのダニ・フィルスの存在感。
あらゆる点で1stからスケールアップを遂げ、本作ではその激烈かつドラマティックなサウンドに
説得力を付加し、闇の幻想美を彩っている。たとえば、ノルウェーのバンドとは異なるベクトルで
ブラックメタルをエンターテイメントミュージックにまで仕立て上げたこのバンドの功績は大きい。
現在におけるシンフォニック・ブラックシーンの発展の布石ともなった傑作といっていいだろう。
そして次作「Cruelty And The Beast(鬼女と野獣)」において、彼らはその地位を不動のものにする。
