自意識過剰でナルシスティックで挑発的なロックスター（死語？）って、最近いませんよね？このＳＵＥＤＥのブレットアンダーソン、まさにそんな人でした。アクターとオーディエンスの距離感がどんどん狭まっているような昨今、こんな毒々しくって近寄りがたいような人はもう現れないのかもしれません。パフォーマンスが「毒」ならば、この１ｓｔも見事に「毒」な内容です。発売当時、ブレットが「大衆を堕落させたい」と言っていたとおり、歌詞は近親相姦やホモセクシャルなど、タブーを連発。（「陵辱」なんて和訳詞、見たことありますか？笑）そんなエロ歌詞にエロい曲調が乗っかるもんですから、聴くほうはもうたまりません。ガクガク腰がくだける感じがします。この頃のツアー映像を見たことがあるのですが、聴衆のカップル（？）が人目もはばからずに抱き合っているシーンが映っていました。そんな気持ちになるってことが妙にうなずけてしまっていた当時の自分は、やっぱり立派なＳＵＥＤＥ中毒者だったのでしょう。ちなみにこの頃の初期ＳＵＥＤＥのＣＤジャケット、イエローモンキーのアルバム「ＳＭＩＬＥ」がパクってます。吉井和哉もＳＵＥＤＥのファンであると公言していました。いずれにしても華々しかった９０年代英国ロックの偉大な遺産のひとつです。歴史を辿るにも避けては通れない作品だと思います。

偉大なバンド「Suede」のファーストアルバム。彼らの持つ毒性が見事に表現されている作品です。

同性愛、近親相姦などの危険なキーワードが彼らの作る独特のメロディに載る。これらが見事に絡み合って、中毒性の高いSuedeの「音」になります。
この、絶対に彼ら以外には誰も出せないSuedeの「音」は必聴です。ぜひ彼らの毒を味わってみてください。

93年発売のスウェードのデビューアルバムですね。三平にとっては人生10枚に入るかも知れないナイスなアルバムです。
何歌ってんだかよくわかんない女みたいなヴォーカルに（笑、妖しくも美しいメロディ、情念のこもったギター。
初期スウェードの骨子はヴォーカルのブレッド・アンダーソン、そしてギターのバーナード・バトラーの掛け合いのようなギター＆ヴォーカルのからみに尽きます。
ヴォーカルにクセがあるので、生理的にうけつけない人もいるでしょうが（三平はモリッシーがだめですね。）、もし大丈夫なら是非聞きましょう。

人間はいろいろなものが限界を超えるとゲロちんを吐きますが、美しさの限界を超えても吐くかも。「美しすぎる！ぼげぇー！」みたいな（笑
という点からは「吐きまくりの一枚」と言えるでしょう。
ジャンジャカ鳴らせばロックギターだと思っているロックキッズ達には必聴の一枚。美しくてエロいギターで漏らします。

ロックスター然りとしたヴォーカルのブレッドだけど、デビュー前は便所掃除のバイトをしてたところとかも、涙をさそってバンドの美しさに花を添えますね。デビューは27歳の遅咲きだし（笑
