よりアコースティックかつジャズ色の強くなった新生アースワークスの２作目。１曲目からタイトでパワフルなブルッフォードのドラムが聞ける。ダブル・トリオのクリムゾン離脱後初のアルバムで、気合が入っています。現時点で、ブルフォードのソロ関連アルバムの５本指に入ると思います。

4.0 out of 5 stars 完全ジャズ路線のアコースティックなアルバム。（第2次アースワークスの2作目。）, 2003/8/7
　これは完全にもうジャズ・アルバムです。しっとりと落ち着いた感じのアルバムです。私が聴いた氏のアルバムの中では一番ジャジーなアルバムです。このアルバム発売時に来日公演が今はなき、お台場のトリビュート・トゥ・ザ・ラブ・ジェネレーションであり、その会場でこのアルバムを買いました。（プログレ好きの私にはこのライブ会場がなくなったのは本当に残念。いいアーティストがいっぱい来てました。また、客席とステージが至近距離なので本当に間近でブラッフォード氏を見れたのは感激！！！でした。）
　ですので、話を元に戻すとロックを期待してジャズに興味のない方が購入されるとひじょうに危険な？！アルバムです。

再編成メンバーでのアースワークスの二枚目のアルバム。内容はと云えば、1枚目より全体的にまとまった感じで、今後の期待が膨らみます。エレドラを使ったアースワークスもお気に入りなのですが、クリムゾンの誘惑からきっぱり足を洗った(?)ビルの真面目なＪＡＺＺへのコダワリがここで全開。「ウッド・マン・シングズ、アンド・ザ・ストーン・ウーマン・ダンシズ」でのＳＡＸとピアノの掛け合いのフレーズは「バルトーク」の「不思議な中国の役人」のマンダリンが女を追いかける所のトランペットの動機を彷彿させる前衛的な部分も。思えば彼のおかげでバルトークを聴くようになったのだ！（リットー・ミュージックのカセット付き教材で「２台のピアノと打楽器のためのソナタ」を影響された曲として挙げているＢＢ）これからの期待大と言う含みで☆4つ。
