2nd アルバム 『 アンブラ 』 。　1st のインパクトが強烈だっただけに、やや肩を潜めた感の否めないようですが、 "Sloughin Blue" から "Ingrained" への流れ、パワフルな "Fogbound　- Flit Through -" などかなりポイントを押さえたアルバムです。　ブンブンサテライツとしての 何か進みつつあるモノ、その一方で ハッキリとしたその向かう先、を身体で聴き取れます。

　シングルカットされた３曲はさておき、オススメはトラック２ "Ingrained " 。　彼ららしいダークな雰囲気を漂わせつつも、不意に訪れる、また背後に見え隠れする クリア 、　そのバランスの見事さは、ジャパニーズテクノ の未来さえをも映し出してくれます。　他トラック８の "Sinker" もかなり魅せられるナンバー。

BBSは本国よりも海外でとても評価の高いユニットで、ケミカルブラザーズの再来とも言われています。
ファーストのOut Loudの時から片鱗はありましたが、本作UMBRAは素晴らしい。鋭利なサウンド、へヴィでストレートなサウンドが傑出し、スピード感溢れるビートの嵐、どれをとっても最高傑作です！
このへヴィネスのクオリティはBBSならでは。ダークネス＆ヘヴィネスを併せ持ったUMBRAはひときわ異彩を放っていますね。

数あるブンブンサテライツのアルバムの中でこの作品が一番だと思います。
最近の作品から入ってきた人（私もです）には正直合うかどうかは分かりませんが、ブンブンサテライツを知ったならば是非聴いてもらいたい一枚です。
事実、私は最近の作品から入ったのですが、今までこのようなジャンルの音楽に触れる機会が少なかったので見事に開拓されました。
とにかく名曲揃いなので聴いておいて損は無い、と思います。
