ポンプ・ロックと称され、何故かプログレとは区別されてしま
ているPendragon。個人的には立派なプログレだと思っており
ますが・・・プログレかどうかはさて置いて、特にこの作品と
前作はハマれるシンフォニック・ロックの傑作です。
聴き始めは、なんかイマイチ個性が強くないなとの印象でしたが、

何度も聴いているうち、この形にはまったド・シンフォの世界に
引き込まれていきます。ようは個性は強くないが、このタイプでは
音楽、演奏、構成力が最強。実験的な作品、際立った個性をもった
ものも良いが、それが必ず『良い』と思わせる結論には至らない
ですよね。着実にシンフォニック・ロックの牙城を守るこのバンド

にも、もっとスポット・ライトを浴びせて欲しいです。

　英国出身のプログレ・バンドの、’０１年発表作。
　このバンドならではの個性である、楽しげなファンタジック・ワールドに、陰のあるシリアスな色が混じっている。それは何処かスピリチュアルな要素を感じさせる、これまでになかったテイストで、それが加味されることにより、よりコクのある味わいを醸し出している。　
　それは演奏面にも顕著に表れており、これまで同様、明るく煌びやかなサウンドを放ちつつも、一方で､ハードでタイトなプレイを見せ、表現の幅が広がっている。
　泣きのギターも、ただ泣かせるのではなく、ここというところでの考えられた出し方で、効果的に決まっている。
　前作で見受けられた進化がより深みを増し、字義どおり深化しているのが如実に表れている。面に出て、エモーショナルな味わいを重視したのが伺える内容となっている。
　前作から５年振りと長い期間があいたが、その分クォリティ、実力が更に向上したのが実感できる会心作だ。
