ジュライモーニング、いいですねぇ。最高に叙情的で個人的にはこのアルバムの中で一番好きです。ヨーロッパではパープル、ツェッペリンと並んで3大HRバンドとして評価されていたユーライアヒープですが日本では今一人気がありませんでした。そんな中でこのルックアットユアセルフはかなりヒットしたと記憶しております(歳がばれる・・・笑)。ヒープのアルバムはハードかつヘビーな曲、軽快なロックンロール、叙情性豊かなバラードと1枚でいろいろ入ってるのが多いんですがこのアルバムは比較的、非常にヘビー(メタルって意味じゃなく）で暗めの曲で統一されていて、まさにブリティッシュハードロックって感じでおすすめです。

アルバムタイトルと同名の「ルック・ユアセルフ」は最高ですねえ。でも、ほんまに音楽性からしても秀逸なのは、わたしゃ「ジュライ・モーニング」だと思うンよ。このグループ、ハードロックなんでしょうけど、プログレくさい分類にされるのも、分かるわね。

「ユーライア・ヒープ」といえば、「対自核」（邦題）と云われる程の「代表作」です。個人的には「プログレ」が好きなので、「ヒープ」の作品の中では、次作「悪魔と魔法使い」・次々作「魔の饗宴」が好きなのですが、この作品も「捨てがたい」ものがあります。サウンド的には前作「ソールズベリー」と次作の中間といった所なのですが、バンドのサウンドが成長し、完成度の高いアルバムになっております。また、「ミック・ボックス」の「ギター」が結構活躍しており、このアルバムが「ブリティシュ・ハードロック」の名盤として語られる事が多いことも頷ける「サウンド」になっております。まだ、少々荒削りな「サウンド」なのですが、勢いのある「サウンド」で、バンドとしての勢いも感じられる仕上がりになっていると思います。ちなみに「ドラム」は、まだ「リー・カースレイク」ではありません。（でも、ちょっと違ったセンスの「ドラミング」で、楽しめます。）
