本作はアイオナの5枚目の作品です。本作が出る前にライヴアルバムや各メンバーのソロ作品が出ましたが、それらが本作に良い形でフィードバックされたのでしょう。そして5年という歳月をかけた事で、本作は前4作より遥かにスケールの大きい圧倒的な完成度を誇る内容になりました。

1はライヴアルバム「Woven cord」に先行収録の曲のスタジオテイク。いきなり10分近い大作が聴き手を迎えます。ドラマーの交代でドラムの音が太く力強くなったのが分かります。面白いのは前半のリードをパイプがギターの代わりに取っている事。そしてようやく2からジョアンヌの歌声を聴けます。2,3,6,7,8,11は非常に詩的で美しいイメージを抱かせてくれます。メロディがどれも秀逸です。4は複雑でドラマティックな構成が見事。本作の聴き所の１つ。5はヴァイオリンのソロ演奏曲で、ゾッとする程美しい佳曲。本作の後半の目玉8,9,10は組曲で、アンビエント色の強い大作（特に8では放心状態になれます）。最後を締めくくる11のエンディングでは1から(10までの曲の断片がフラッシュバックとなって再登場し、聴き手に「このアルバム聴いてる私は幸せだな…」という良い余韻に浸らせてくれます。

ケルト、プログレ、アンビエント、クラシック、ジャズ、その他色々な音楽要素を包括した本作は、相当手の込んだ制作であるはずなのに「これ以上何も出来ない程やりつくした」と全く思わせません。それどころか、どこまでも成長発展していける音楽性を持っているんだという事を、その高い演奏力と自由の利く音楽性が証明しています。

本作はプログレファンはもちろん、ケルトファンやアンビエントファンにもお勧めです。深みとドラマと幸福感に満ちた本作の音世界を是非体験して下さい。

９５年の４ｔｈから、２タイトルのライブアルバムをはさんで５年ぶりのスタジオ録音新作。
ケルト・ミュージックファン、プログレファンの間で受けまくっているアイオナの充実の一作。

テク文句なし、民族楽器も大幅にとりいれ、（１ｓｔからずっとそうだけど）全編美しく、風格さえただよっております。７０分を超える長丁場も１曲１曲誠実に作りこまれており、非のうちどころがない。
