初春の山あいの川を流れる雪解け水のような、凛とした美しさを感じる端正なクラシカル・ポップロックアルバムです。全体に涼やかなサウンドの中、それになじむ透明さを持ちながらもまろやかさを感じさせるアニー・ハスラムのボーカルに、そのキャラクターの暖かさが春の日差しのように顔を覗かせます。こう感じるのは、これ以前のアルバムでは、演奏とアニーのボーカルがともにプログレ的な陰影で統一されていることがあったのが（「Turn of the Cards 」「Scheherazade & Other Stories」など、それはそれで私は大好きですが）、このアルバムではそのような陰影が少ないためでしょう。「Winter Tree」「Golden Key」「Kalynda」などメロディーの良い曲が多い佳作アルバムです。

パンクムーヴメントの直後なので曲は短め。ある意味エイジア的と言えるかも。
シンセは最新のモノを使ったのだろうが現時点ではエレクトーンに聞こえる。

オーケストラが使われてないのでルネッサンス黄金期に比べれば陳腐に聞こえてしょうがない。

ただアニーハズラムの歌声は十分に楽しめる。

「A Song for All Seasons」を経て完全にポップ志向に踏み込んだアルバム。
この時点で完全にRENAISSANCEから離れたファンも多いだろう。
でも今にして思うと、ポップ志向とRENAISSANCEの個性が絶妙にバランスした作品だったのではないかという感じも受ける。
収録されている曲はどれも美しい。
それ以前の作品と比較すれば明らかに異質で、それ以前のファンからすれば拒否反応を起こして当然だけれども、現在の目で実は最も一般ウケするのはこれじゃないかなあという気がする。
