第3、4、5期のクリムゾンのライヴ、リハーサル・セッションの模様を収めた3枚組。彼らのコレクターズ・クラブの会員のみ手にすることができたCDで、プログレ好きにはうれしい作品だ。
内容 (「CDジャーナル・レビュー」より)
クリムゾン・マニア向け、DGMコレクターズ会員に頒布される音源を、日本独自にボックス化したその第4弾。ディスク1は、第3期クリムゾン(72~74年)のラスト・ライヴ(74年7月1日NY、セントラル・パーク)を収めたもので、ヴォーカルがジョン・ウェットンということもあるけれど、“プログレの王道”が堪能できる必聴音源。ディスク2は、80年11月に新グループの結成を決意したフリップ先生が、エイドリアン・ブリューら新メンバーを加え、“ディシプリン”(後に第4期クリムゾンとなる)として初ステージを行なった際の音源(81年4月30日、英バース、モールズ・クラブ)。「ディシプリン」のミニマル感覚たっぷりの演奏は、今聴いてもその酩酊感+陶酔感にくらくらさせられる。ディスク3は、第5期クリムゾン(94年~)の、ダブル・トリオによる最後のセッションを収めたもの(97年7月、ナッシュヴィル)で、その後の“プロジェクト”への萌芽もたっぷり。 (藤本国彦) --- 2001年03月号
