まずもって、ゲスト参加のギタリストのメンツが極めて豪華である。シュガー吉永、ROLLY、中シゲヲ、下山淳などなど。しかもそれでいながら、NATSUのヴォーカルとアキノリの鍵盤がちゃっかりど真ん中に居座り続けているんだから。なにげに画期的な作品である。楽曲も決して多様なわけではないが、懸命に配球を工夫しているし、なによりどの曲も口ずさみやすい。後半の流れは感動的ですらある。プリプリの再来である。それでいて日陰者としてのたたずまいは捨て切れない。そんなふたりが愛おしいよ、俺は。 (平野敬三) --- 2000年09月号

センチメンタル・バスの2ndにして、最後になったアルバム。プロデューサーは前作に引き続き、ホッピー神山氏。
センチバはこのアルバムの一曲目の「Sunny Day Sunday」のCMタイアップがきっかけになってブレイクしたので、その後のシングル曲（「サイクリングビート330」「SUMMER TIME KIDS STORY」「WEED CROWN」「マニアック問題」）を網羅している本作は、センチバに馴染みのない人にとってはベスト盤的な意味合いもある一枚になっています。聴いたことのある曲ばかりなので、これを入門編にして、1stに手を出すのもありだと思いますよ。

タイトル曲でもある「さよならガール」ですが、作詞した赤羽奈津代（NATSU）さんは当初、この曲を本アルバムの最後の曲にしたかったそうです。ただ、他のスタッフさんとの話し合いの結果、泣く泣く断念。試みに、このアルバムの最後に「さよならガール」を持ってきてみて、NATSUさんの思い、考えを想像してみるのも、このアルバムの「意味」を考える一つのヒントになるのではないでしょうか？
なお、10曲目の「月の空ライダース」は、鈴木秋則氏がメインボーカルを担当しているちすが、このことについては多分賛否両論でしょう（笑）。

『SunnyDaySunday』のヒットで、売れなきゃいけない!!みたいなプレッシャーが生まれてしまったのかしら？シングル曲がやたら入っているのが目立ちます。世間的に見れば一発屋のカテゴリーに入るかもしれないけど、どの曲もかわいくてかっこ良くてとってもステキ☆そこらへんのギャルバンなんかよりずっとロックだから聴いてみて。

鈴木秋則氏は隠れた天才だと勝手に信じています。
これらの曲のメロディにシンセの音をあてがえ、と言われた時に、
彼のセンスを超えるのはなかなか難しいでしょう。
1stでもそのセンスは感じたのですが、
NATSUの歌声等を含む全ての完成度において、2ndが「集大成」といえるでしょう。

「月の空ライダース」の歌声についてですが、
…確かにヘタです。でも味はある。濃い味が。
この「ヘタボイス」と「泣きの楽曲」があまりにもマッチしており、
これも天才の成せる技？と大げさに考えたりしてます。
この曲、聴きつづけるとハマってきて、泣けてしまうほど。
「僕らなんて単純だ全部楽しきゃいい」
単純なようですごく含みのある、温かくも鋭い言葉…に聞こえます。
