私の知人は、「未来予想図２」を結婚式の披露宴で歌ってもらって以来、生涯忘れられないナンバーとなり、自らのカラオケ１８番にもしているそうです。
でもその気持ちってわかりますね。この歌は映画化もされるくらい人々に感動を与えてきたけれど、この曲に限らず、ドリカムのナンバーが生涯の思い出となっている人って結構多いような気がします。とにかく、彼らのナンバーには美しいメロディと共に、人を愛するという気持ちが凝縮されています。

この曲の他にも、たとえば「時間旅行」「うれしい！たのしい！大好き！」そして「LOVE LOVE LOVE 」等、多くの曲は私たちにさまざまな愛を教えてくれたと思うし、またさまざまな想い出をも呼び戻してくれたように思います。また、このベスト盤では「未来予想図」の２曲が連続して収められているのですが、これらの２曲を続けることで、まるで一つの曲のように愛の世界が綴られていることがわかります。結果的には先行した「２」の方が有名になってしまったけれど、「１」も同じように素晴らしいナンバーです。

このベスト盤ではアルバム曲やアルバムヴァージョンを中心に選んであり、できれば「今度は虹を見に行こう」や「銀河への船」も入れてほしかったとも思いましたが、概ね代表曲は選ばれていると思います。でも、ドリカムのベストって２枚組じゃとても足りないですね。

2000年に発売された2枚組のアルバム。
『懐かしい…けれども全然古くない』曲が全部で32曲も入っています。
例えばサンキュ、晴れたらいいね、未来予想図、決戦は金曜日などが有名ですが、私のオススメは『HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY』と『眼鏡越しの空』

『HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY』は、その名の通りBirthday Song。誕生日にアカペラでハモられた日には、『ドリカムの曲』と知らない人でも感動します!

そして『眼鏡越しの空』!
自分が嫌いな内気な女の子が片思いをして、自分を変えよう…自分を好きになろうと思う、という曲なのですが、眼鏡というガラスを隔てた内(=自分)と外(=他人)との感覚がうまく表現されてて、これを越える眼鏡ソングは今のところ聞いたことがありません。
ぜひぜひ眼鏡好きは聞いてください。

Disk 2のバラード編が特に好き！昔から失恋をバラードで歌い上げる名曲は数あれど、あふれ出る恋愛感情、両思いのシアワセをバラードで歌い上げるなんて、現代的なんでしょうね。車で「かーた思いが突然~恋に代わった~」と歌うととても気分が良くなります。
