クラシック正規教育を受けたダリル・ウェイ(violin)とフランシス・モンクマン(g.key)の２人に女性ヴォーカリストのソーニャ・クリスティナをフィーチャーした英国プログレバンドの２枚目。記録的予約セールスの１枚目よりもさらに彼らの特色がおしだされた良いアルバムである。クリスティナとウェイの２人がフロントメンバーであるが、編曲とサウンド作りはモンクマンがイニシアティヴをとっている（彼のその後のＳＫＹなどでの活動をみれば明らか）。特に、track 1におけるＶＣＳ３シンセサイザーソロの何気ないようで非常に洗練されたフレージングは特筆に値する。ただし、ギターとキーボードの両方を担当しなければならなかった負担は、スタジオではともかく、ライヴではきつかったようである。バンドとして英国では一定の人気と支持を得ながらもこの２枚目で到達したレベルを維持できなかった（モンクマンはその後脱退）原因もその辺にあるのではなかろうか。

７１年発表の２ｎｄ。前作発表後、ベーシストがイアン・エアに交代している。１ｓｔは『ヴィヴァルディ』など印象的なインスト曲が含まれていたが、本作は歌ものだけで勝負している。方向性やコンセプトがしっかりしているためか、前作にあった前衛性はやや影を潜め、非常に聞きやすくなっている。前半をダリルの楽曲、後半をフランシスの楽曲でまとめており、この２人が中心となってアルバムが製作されていると見て良いと思う。
１．はブラスが導入され、ソーニャの歌声とダリルのヴァイオリンが融合、そして効果音 (これが見事にハマっている！！)、リードと縦横無尽に活躍するシンセサイザーとエアの魅力を凝縮した曲。代表曲の一つと言えると思う。２．はグループ唯一のヒット曲 (全英４位) とも言える比較的ブルージーな曲。ソーニャの歌声を全面に出した洗練された曲だ。３．はエアでも最も美しいメロディを持った名曲。クラシカルかつ屈折したメロディを持った英国風の素晴しい曲に仕上がっている。４．は比較的地味な曲だが、短いながら印象的なギター・ソロが登場し、ヴァイオリンやシンセといったインパクトの強いリード楽器の中でかなりの健闘をしている。８．はブラスやハープシコードを導入したかなりの力作。アクセントを多用したクラシカルかつ複雑な展開は一聴の価値あり。フランシスにとっても最高傑作の部類に入る曲だろう。
アルパムとしては、かなり地味なイメージはあるが、楽曲の素晴しさで選ぶのであれば本作だろう。
