ハッキリ言って、自分はこのアルバムを聞くまではデスメタルというジャンルに嫌悪感すら抱いていました。なんとなく衝動買いし、出だしのデスVoで「しまった！」と思った程です。

しかし、このメロディアスでテクニカルなブラックメタルは、おそらくそういった「デスメタルはうるさくて醜い」等の偏見を持った方でも素晴らしいと言わざるをえない作品だと思います。それくらい、アレキシのソングライティング能力と個々のメンバーの演奏力が他のメロデス集団から群を抜いているのです。

特筆すべきはやはりアレキシとヤンネの超絶的なギター＆キーボードのソロバトル。この掛け合いは他の追随を許さぬ超絶技巧を堪能できます。「Mask Of Sanity」のソロなど、その速さと見事なまでに重なるギターとKeyのテクに鳥肌が立ちます。もちろん他のメンバーもこの２人が目立ちがちですが十分過ぎる仕事をしています。

デスメタルという物に偏見をお持ちのメロディックメタル愛好家の方は、一度このバンドに触れてから今一度考え直してみる事をオススメします。

　デスメタルというと「やばい」「こわい」「あぶない」という固定観念が、一般には存在しがちだと僕は思いますが、しかし、このアルバムを聞いてその考えは僕の思い違いであったと思い知らされました。
　このアルバム内で繰り広げられるchildren of bodomの流麗で、テクニカルで、「これはバンド全体で歌を歌っている！！」と思わせる演奏にはそれだけの説得力があります。
　ぜひ、このアルバムを聞きchildren of bodomの世界に浸りこの感覚を味わってください。

2ndか最新作の4thが人気だが、お勧めは断然この3rdです。
COB最大の魅力であるアグレシッブ・ギターとキラキラ・キーボードの美しい絡みが、一番楽しめる作品ではないでしょうか。
随所にわたって超絶テクニックによる哀愁メロが襲い、この手の音楽が好きな方は、間違いなく一曲目からやられるでしょう。
Voは確かにデス系だが、結構メロにのせて歌っているし、がなりたてて叫ぶ感じでも無いので、HMファンの方は違和感無く聴けると思います。
デス・ボイスだという理由だけで、聴かないと後悔します。一度、試して下さい。
