選曲、シークエンスともよく練られたソウル・アルバム。
日本独自の企画らしいので、日本のファンは幸せかも。

メアリ-の声には何とも言えない憂いとリアリティがあって、
それがラヴソングに輝きと重みを与えている。

簡単にお気に入りの曲を紹介をしてみよう。
ダイアナ＆マーヴィンのデュエットでヒットした
♪You Are Everything とかの♪Sukiyaki を折衷した（？）04.,
切ない恋心が歌声の中に渦巻くような 06.,
出会って１週間のラヴストーリーを物憂げに歌う 07.,
おとなの恋を珠玉のメロディに乗せて歌う10.,
不倫の恋の現実がざっくりと歌われた 11.,
恋愛の修羅場（？）を描いた 12.,
シャニース・ウィルスンの多重コーラスが曲を盛り上げる 13.
など、いずれも佳曲だ。
スティーヴィー・ワンダーの01., や
アレサ・フランクリンの 08., では先達である２人への
リスペクトが歌声からあふれるようだ。

「ヒップ・ホップ」・ソウルの枠にとどまらず、
彼女がソウル、Ｒ＆Ｂの正統的な継承者であることを
自分のようなヒップ・ホップの門外漢にも気づかせてくれた名盤。
恋するおとなの女性におすすめしたい。

Mary J.のバラードを集めた日本独自企画盤。この中で注目は何といってもスティーヴィー・ワンダーの名曲（１）のカバー（未発表曲）。楽曲自体が素晴らしいのに加えて、Maryの歌もソウルがあり言うことなし。感動します。他にもデビューシングルにしてR&Bチャート１位をゲットした（２）、ジャムルイによるスムーズなバラード（３）、Sukiyakiを下敷きにした大ヒット曲（４）、メローな（６）、groovyな（１４）（１５）など名曲が目白押し。ほんとにいい曲を数多く歌い続けているMaryの軌跡がすごくよくわかる。また、Maryのボーカルがみるみるうちにうまくなっていく過程もわかり面白い。お徳盤。
