初めて聞いた時、１曲目のパワートゥラヴから９曲目のマスカレードまで（日本盤は１０曲目にチェイシングタイムがボーナスとしてあります。）の数十分間は本当にあっという間の出来事でした。「心にしみる」とはこういう事を言うんだなって、改めて思いました。
しかも、聴けば聴くほどその美しい世界に引きこまれる感じで飽きがきません。

全てが素晴らしいと思うアルバムですが、特にボーカルの歌唱力には脱帽です。
ＨＲというジャンルには属していますが、全ての人に聞いてもらいたい超名盤だと思います。

新ヴォーカリストに元ＶＡＧＡＢＯＮＤ（ＴＮＴのロニー・ル・テクロ（ｇ）とモーティー・ブラック（ｂ）によるバンド）他のヨルン・ランデを迎えての第１作（通算３作目）。

素晴らしかった前作「ＡＮＧＥＬＦＩＲＥ」の後だけにかなりの不安があったのだが・・・凄いわ、このヴォーカル。圧倒的に上手い。前任者のトッド・プラントも爽やかなハイトーンで素晴らしかったが、コイツ、ヨルン・ランデは桁違いに上手い。元ＷＨＩＴＥＳＮＡＫＥの残党等と作ったＴＨＥ　ＳＮＡＫＥＳでのパフォーマンスも素晴らしかったが、ここまで上手かったとは・・・。

それは１曲目の”Ｔｈｅ　Ｐｏｗｅｒ　Ｏｆ　Ｌｏｖｅ”で明らかにされる。楽々こなすハイトーンも素晴らしいが、渋いロートーンが堪らない！その!ヴォーカルは３曲目のタイトルトラック”Ｈｏｕｒｇｌａｓｓ”で全開。ミドルテンポの様式美系の楽曲に乗るこの声・・・確実にヨルンはバンドを新たなるステージへ導いた！

勿論、ラルフ・サントーラ（ｇ）のギターは文句無しに素晴らしい。ツボを見事に押さえたそのプレイには、脱帽です。お見事！

現DEICIDEのラルフ・サントーラ率いるメロディック・ハードバンドが2000年に発表した３ｒｄアルバムは、某ＣＤショップで試聴開始後、わずか２秒で購入を決意させた逸品。

ってなお遊びはどーでもいいとして(^_^;)

前任に替わって鬼シンガー、ヨルン・ランデ（ARK、YNGWIE、MASTERPLAN、etc･･･）を迎え入れて制作された今作。とにかくヴォーカル・パートの充実っぷりが見事なことこの上ない。
開始２秒で購入を決意したのも、他ならぬ、冒頭でいきなり炸裂するメロディック極まりないヴォーカルコーラスの完成度があまりに圧巻だったゆえ。

＃１“The　Power　To　Love”＝名曲認定。

とりあえず今思いつく限りで言うと、ドライヴィング系メロハー曲でコレを超える曲は自分の中では10曲あるかないか・・・。

なにせ素晴らしい。メロ、ハーモニー、曲展開、いずれもが完璧に絡み合って生まれた奇跡的名曲。

間奏でのピアノソロ〜ベースの絡み〜歌うギターソロ〜ブレイク、そして溜めに溜めた挙句、最後の最後に飛翔感溢れるサビが炸裂した瞬間、意識が遠のくほどの昂揚感で満たされる・・・。
まさに叙情性とパッションが絶妙なバランスで成り立った一曲。

我が貧乏ボキャブラリーでは表現しきれない・・・。もどかしい・・・(T_T)

個人的には、この一曲だけでＣＤ１枚分の価値を見出したね。
音楽聴く趣味を持ってて本当に良かったと思える数少ないアルバムだったな（＾＾

プロの演奏にプロの歌唱が載る。メロもいい。と来りゃ、駄作なはずがないわな。
１曲目の衝撃が凄すぎるが故に、他の曲の印象がかすみがちではあるものの、他の曲にも聴き所は多いってのも良し。

メロハー好きは買いなさい(-.-)
