「恋人たちのクリスマス」のRemixを収録したシングル。
日本だけのリリースなのでこのシングルの価値は高く、初回生産分はシルバージャケットになっています。

#1はお馴染みのオリジナルヴァージョン。

#2がJermaine Dupri(以下JD)の手掛けたRemixでこのシングルの目玉ですね。
FeaturingにJD&Lil'Bow Wow(現Bow Wow)となっていますが、Lil'Bow Wowはイントロで喋っているだけでラップの参加では無く、JDも途中声を入れてるだけでラップの参加ではありません。
トラックがベース物になっていて、それにあわせてMariahの歌も録り直されていてます。
歌い方は近年多用しているウィスパーを基本としているので、その辺は好き嫌いがわかれると思います。

個人的には少し物足りなく感じましたが出来自体は悪くはないです。

#3もこのシングルの目玉で「O Holy Night」のライブヴァージョンです。
いつの録音かわからないのですが、多分'94年に行われたクリスマスライブの模様だと思います。
オリジナルに忠実なアレジンながら、Mariahは所々にアドリブを入れ、ライヴならではの臨場感ある仕上がりになっています。

#4は'96年発売のマキシシングル「恋人たちのクリスマス」に収録されたヴァージョンと同じです。

リリースは2000年ですが、3曲目のライブバージョンは声の出し具合などから90年代の中期ころに収録されたものだと思います。つまり声の全盛期でマライアのパフォーマンスは無敵です。アルバムバージョンのテイク違いと言ってもいいくらいで、完璧です。オーディエンスも盛りあがってます。臨場感抜群。一方の1曲目は最近収録されたもので、声のトーンは落ちてますが冷静に聴くと、やはりマライアは歌が上手いなあという感じ。買う価値はあると思います。

デビュー以来、今では本国以上と思われる程、熱狂的な日本のMariahファンへのクリスマス・プレゼントではと思われる日本限定盤！ドラマ『29歳のクリスマス』の主題歌の2000版、ミレニアム・リミックスが楽しめます！
