その後のポールウェラーの洗練っぷりを思うにつけ、このデビューアルバムの荒っぽさといったらない。もっともジャムはパンクバンドであるから、そのデビューアルバムが荒いというのはむしろ買いだろう。
本作品は五枚出ているジャムの中ではもっとも出来の悪いアルバムである。ただそれは、パンクバンドの多くが、出せば出すほどつまらなくなっていくのに対して、ポールウェラーはちゃんと成長していったからで、それゆえ、このデビューアルバムは劣ってみえるのである。
