チャイコフスキーのピアノ協奏曲第１番が始まったと思いきや、リムスキー・コルサコフの
熊蜂の飛行、モーツァルトの交響曲４０番‥‥。
フォービートのリズムに乗って、次から次へと曲があふれてきます。
元のクラシック曲は三拍子なので、スピードアップになりますが、楽しく聴けます。
クラシックの名曲の数々が見事につなぎ合わされています。気にいった曲が見つかれば、そのＣＤを手に入れるという楽しみもふえます。
残念ながら海外盤なので日本語解説書はありませんが、ゼッタイおすすめです。
この商品は３枚セットですが、フックトオンクラシック１の１枚盤だけでも十分楽しめます。

このフックト・オン・クラシックスの最初のLPが出たのは、私が中学生になったばかりの頃でした。あのチャイコンに始まり、第九で終わる、どこかで聞いたものばかりの名旋律が怒濤のように繰り広げられるのを当時FMラジオで聞いて大変驚いた記憶があります。（私の記憶が間違っていなければ、ロイヤル・フィルとルイス・クラークが、たぶんチャリティーコンサートか何かで、ビートルズやジョンレノンの旋律をメドレーにしたLPもあったと思います。）その後フックトオンシリーズとしてパート3まで出たので、高校を卒業する頃にCDで買い直したのですが、実は40を越えた今でもiPodに入れて楽しんでいます。思えば、パガニーニの主題によるラプソディーやボロディンの夜想曲、カヴァレリア・ルスティカーナ等、これで覚えた旋律の曲名を探しては、CDのコレクションを増やしていったようなものでした。なお、原曲を聴いている最中に、次の旋律にメドレーしないと逆に違和感をもってしまう「副作用」があります。例えば、家路の次がローエングリンとか、カルメンの後が１８１２年が続かないほうが変と思ってしまうくらい。メドレーとしての出来が良いのだと思います。このシリーズは、２，３と続く程、マニアックな選曲が増えます。特に”ワルソー・コンチェルト”や、”ファウスト”など、フックト・オン・クラシックスで聞かなかったら、おそらく一生記憶に残らなかったでしょう。それと、スパルタカスやコッペリア、ラ・シルフィードなど、バレエの名曲を知るきっかけになりました。ちょっと前に流行したEMIのクラシック１００シリーズなどでも取り上げられている曲が多く、英国人のコレクター魂おそるべし、との思いを強くしました。現在フックト・オン・クラシックスはこのマーケットプレイスでしか入手できないみたいですが、これを聞いてクラシック・ファンになった私としては、再発売を強く望みます。

追記）輸入盤のボックスセットのほうが、二十数年前に買ったものよりも音がクリアになった気がします。最初はオーディオシステムのせい？と思って昔のCDを聞き直したところ、昔のCDのほうが「荒い」音がしていました。特にJourney through the classicsの音ムラが改善していましたので、音源をリマスター？したのでしょうか。

実に楽しい。
しかし３枚聞くとさすがに飽きます。
