「エレキブーム」で日本中「テケテケテケテケ」というサウンドが大流行の頃です。自分の小遣いで最初に買ったのがベンチャーズのレコードでした。当時のエレキバンドのグループの中で一番人気があり、とても分かりやすい特徴あるサウンドを持っていました。

このＣＤは、そんなベンチャーズが、大好きな日本の歌手のために、様々な曲を提供したもので、全てがオリジナルという当時のファンを泣かせるようなＣＤです。

渚ゆう子が歌った「京都の恋」と「京都慕情」がとても懐かしかったですね。地元京都の高校に通っていた時、深夜放送のラジオ番組によく流れていた曲です。日本の優しい女性のイメージが盛り込まれていたのでしょうか。

欧陽菲菲の「雨の御堂筋」も大ヒットしました。彼女のたどたどしい日本語が妙に雰囲気をもたらした曲でした。大阪を歌った曲の代表のような歌謡曲でしたね。
山内賢と和泉雅子の「二人の銀座」もベンチャーズの曲だったのですね。知りませんでした。デュエット曲として今でも我々５０代のものには今でも歌われる曲です。

ベンチャーズのサウンドと懐かしい歌手の歌声を聴くと、青春時代のあの頃の思い出も一緒に蘇ってきます。

ずっと牧葉ユミ「回転木馬」がCDになっていないか探して、探して、やっと見つけました。ベンチャーズ歌謡という点では、小山ルミ「さすらいのギター」が収録されていないのが残念ですが、7曲め以降のあまり知られていない曲もなかなかいい感じ。ライナーノートは、やたら収録されていない曲名が登場する割に、収録曲や歌手の説明が少なくて不満が残ります。でも、でも、「回転木馬」が聴けることが、いちばん素晴らしいです。

テレビで石井竜也が”京都慕情”を歌っていて、
この曲をすごく聴きたくなりました。渚ゆう子のオリジナルしか
入ってないものより、矢野顕子のkyotoも入っているのでいいな、と思い、購入しました。一緒に入っていた北京慕情がすごくよかったです。
ただ、他のなじみのない曲でピンとくるものがなかったです。母も知らない曲ばかりでした。
