5.0 out of 5 stars 高橋幸宏畢生の傑作アルバム, 2004/2/1
　本作は現在廃盤されているらしいが、作品の質を考えると信じられないことだ。中古盤屋で見かけた方は迷わず購入なさることをすすめる。高橋幸宏と言えば、「はかなげなメロディではかなげな歌詞をうたう」印象が強いが、本作にはいわゆる捨て曲の類はほとんど収録されていない。長いアルバムではないが、無駄なく引き締まっている。

　幕開けはビートルズのカバー。続く2.、3.と息も吐かせないほどの展開を見せる。4.、5.の息抜きを挟んで、珍しく「ロック」している6.（冒頭に納豆売りの声が入っているのは気のせいか？）、ドラマティックな7.、内省的な8.と流れ、最後にアルバム一番の大曲9.で締めくくる構成も悪くない。英詞の多い点も幸宏らしい。

　人は誰でも一生のうちに一冊は本を書くことができる、とは三木清の言葉だが、さしずめこのアルバムは高橋幸宏の諸作品の内でも最高傑作に挙げることができるのではないかと思う。
　捨てがたい名曲の目白押し。

ご本人曰く、『最悪』な状況下で作られた作品。しかしサウンド面での進化はとどまるところをしらない。全編に渡るリバーブの使い方はもはや職人芸。同時期のミカバンドの再結成アルバム『天晴』、次作の『Broadcasting from heaven』でもその技は聞き取れる。個人的にはアイヴァ-デイヴィスとのデュエットがベスト。しかし返す返すも当時の日本の音楽シーンは氏の才能にもっと広いフィールドを与えられなかったのだろうか・・・ファンとして悔いが残る。

名曲「左岸~LeftBank~」収録アルバムです。
アルバムのっけからビートルズの「TomorrowNeverKnows」のカバーと言う辺り（しかもジョージイズムっぽいアレンジでっ）凄い挨拶を食らった気になります。

「LookOfLove」あたりややそれまでの「幸宏節」を思わせる曲もあるのですが、「朝色のため息」「SeaChange」など、細野さんへのオマージュを感じさせる曲や、ロックだってやれちゃいます「Dance Of Life」
スネアドラムを二種類使い分ける地味なしっとり系「Yes」、余りに美しくはかない「Only the heart has Hard」

曲数は少ないけれど、このアルバムはかなりベストアルバムに近いです。

っていうかこのアルバムの紹介をするなら「左岸」の歌詞を全てのっけておくだけで十分かもしれません。

最強の敵は自分の中にいる
最高の神も自分の中にいる　はず…
