１９７９年の録音で、ザ・シンガース・アンリミテッドとしては「クリスマス」に次いで４枚目のアカペラ・アルバムです。今回は比較的有名な歌ばかりを集めていますが、特に歌詞の無い「ワン・モア・タイム、チック・コリア」と「エンタテイナー」（映画「スティング」で用いられた有名な曲。）の２曲が秀逸です。彼らにとって最後に近いアルバムで（１９８０年に「イージー・トウー・ラヴ」を出しています。）、多重録音を用いたコーラスの技術も完成度がかなり高くなっています。

ザ・シンガーズ・アンリミテッドの通算14枚目のアルバムで、ア・カペラのアルバムとしては4枚目にあたります。1979年6月、ドイツのヴィリンゲンにあるMPSのスタジオでマルチトラック・レコーディングしたものです。

1970年代に活躍した彼らのハーモニーに魅了されてきました。聴き始めて30年以上の歳月が流れましたが、大好きなグループですから、コレクションの中からいろいろと引っ張り出しては聴いています。今聴いてもとてもオシャレで新鮮な香りがするのは音楽の質の高さによるものだと思います。

女声1人、男声3人のグループですが、多重録音を用いていますので、とても複雑な音楽で構成されており、それが深みと潤いを与えています。実際のステージでは聴けないという珍しいグループですから、その活動も残された音源を介してとなりますが、21世紀になってもこのように聴くことができることを考えますと、全力で録音にあたったからこそ値打ちがあるのです。演奏の水準は一定に保たれていますし、ジーン・ピアリングのアレンジの巧さで古さは全く感じません。

映画の主題歌「追憶」「エンタテイナー」や、ボサ・ノヴァの名曲「サムワン・トゥ・ライト・アップ・マイ・ライフ」など、ポップスの曲も新鮮な響きを感じさせます。
チック・コリアの「ワン・モア・タイム」では、ジャズ・テイストあふれる素晴らしいハーモニーを披露しています。
フォスターの「金髪のジェニー」の懐かしい響き、スピリチュラル「時には母のない子のように」の悲しみを背負った切々とした歌唱、どれも聴きほれます。
